Winter 2023/24 - It's FREEZING!

Kind of weird how the overnight temperatures are brutal last few days, but daytime temperatures just aren't that kind of below freezing we'd have in winters decades past and in the sun actually quite pleasant. With a slight adjustment to the setup we could have had a week of wintery weather to match anything short of the likes of 61/62.

I can set my car to defrost / heat up which is lovely, however the Mrs is heading out soon in hers so just been out to start hers up as it's frozen solid and showing -7

Damn cold out there !!

-7.7 on my weather station. Wouldn't say it feels really cold outside though. Parts of Scotland are getting 50mph winds and snow blizzards. Sounds awesome.

It's so dry and no wind. That's why it doesn't feel cold.

Says -5 here. Not seen it that cold in the 4 years I've lived here

I think 413x is right, the air is very dry so even a little sun and it feels pleasant.

I've been kayaking before with ice on the rivers. But if the sun is out and it's still you can go in a t shirt. The temp figure isnt that great vs a true "feel" temperature.

Yeah fortunately - the only places frosting up are like the tops of cars and some roofs, etc. otherwise some of the roads around here would be lethal even with the salting they are doing.

-7c for me in South Wales this morning, coldest day so far. Almost couldn't stay my car this morning as it took 5 times of pressing the start button before it finally turned over. Really doesn't feel that cold though.

-4.5 in Surrey (just by the M25). I've wrapped a hot water bottle (only warm) in a blanket and put it at the side of my cats bed to keep her warm. She loves snuggling it.
