Your legs don't feel the cold so much.

I wear shorts when I go out shopping on the bike, even when it's this cold.

But for sure, if I was out walking, I'd be wearing trousers.

So I probably haven't answered your question! :p

Gritters here are on strike for a week, along with everything else so time for some Finnish flicks!

I've got some, used to wear them when I wore trousers out on the bike, but I've just got used to wearing shorts all year round when out biking.

They'd look real weird wearing them with shorts!

Saw someone's up the mountain with some and some shorts on top.

Bold enough for leggings.. But to self conscious to flash the buldge!
 
We had another 3-4 inches of snow last night so that's about a foot of the stuff we have had now. It's -2.1 here right now and snow showers are forecast throughout the day. We are supposed to have more tonight and tomorrow before turning to rain in the afternoon as the temps rise (about time too after being below zero for almost a week). That will bring another problem and that's the risk of flooding. The ground was already waterlogged before it froze and rain with all the snow melt is going to really raise the levels of the rivers. There are going to be some very worried households down the village. Luckily we are 440 ft ASL here so if we get flooded up we have bigger problems to worry about!!
 
No snow just hard frost,-6.5C this morning, temp dropping like a stone again now, its just above freezing at 4.20pm.
 
I was out clearing snow for the second time today just before tea and was uncovering the grass for our cats to go toilet on and our young boy cat Ozzy was playing with the snow. I lobbed a snowball for him and he took off tearing past me only to go off the bit I had cleared and disappeared in the snow up past his shoulders and he's a big cat. He looked ever so surprised!! It was a real cat WTF moment and I wished I had my phone with me to take a picture.
 
Local weather station hit a tropical 8C early afternoon, but already feeling like -3C, expected to drop to feels like -6C in the early hours (not quite as cold as last night).

Wind gusts over 50mph expected over weekend with rain, but bizarrely, no weather warning.

Yellow warning for Leicestershire from 6am Sunday to 6am Monday.

No warning (yet) for Tuesday which is 50 mph winds and rain from late morning onwards
 
As a grand finale we had another 5-6 inches of snow overnight. I was out clearing our cul-de-sac at 7am this morning before going on to unbury the car. Just as well that's the last of it as I was running out of places to put the damn stuff. That's the problem with people converting their gardens to parking spaces, you can't heap the snow at the side of the road like we used to. Mine is the only one left as a garden so it's full of snow piled high right now. The sooner it melts the better. For the first time in a week we have positive temperatures and are currently enjoying a "warm" 3.2 degrees C!! Coming back from Elgin earlier that low Winter sun was a bitch with the wet road surface and all the snow around.
 
Gust speed has been revised upwards where I am the last 3 days... looks like the worst of it is going to land a little further south than originally thought.
