Also what was with Branflakes peacing out and flying around as a pigeon for no particular reason? I though he was going to do something cool like warg into the wolf again and the wolf would attack the NK just as he's about to kill Jon. But no he just wanted to get an areal view of the battle. Probably couldn't see anything anyway.

Cersei is too valuable a baddie to simply kill, my money is "up norf" banishment where old residual NK horcrux magic gives her a throne, the Night Queen.

I'm wondering how the hell Ghost survived!

Also did I see 2 dragons in the preview?

Additionally going with the theory that Euron's going to kill Jon (the drowned god prophecy).

Just re watched it, can someone explain what happened Melisandre at the end. she walk out, takes off her neckless, now did she turn into smoke as she walk on and disappear, or not. also why did she do this, is it some sort of deal she made with the Lord of light

She believes that people all have a purpose with the Lord of Light, Beric and her purposes were to help Arya kill the NK. Now they served their purposes, they're both gone.

Jon is still living though, so he hasn't yet fulfilled his purpose, but I imagine when he does, he will die too.

They all should have died, Arya, hound, flame sward guy in the castle, jamie, breanne, greyworm on the field. Tyrion and sansa in the crypts, Jon dies in that pile on surrounded by undead, NK goes over to dany on the ground, touches her and she becomes the Night Queen, they both raise their arms, the undead rise, all our characters listed, imagine all our favs blue eye after blue eye, and then all begin the undead march to the capital.

Yes its explained a few seasons ago (I think just after jon got the old stabby stabby action), the necklace kept her alive / provides the illusion of youth. So when she removed it she aged and died.

Though, wonder what happens if someone else puts it on.

yes i understand that the necklace was keeping her young, she takes it off, keeps walking, you can see she getting older as she walks, then it looks like smoke /mist is coming off her, then she seems to fall down, but is there a body or is it just a pile of clothes ?

Cinematically it looked amazing, but tactically it was absolutely ******* dumb, also did they only have enough stones for 1 go of the meowitzers and trebuchets ?

Yeap, like I said, the GoT writers know nothing (Jon Snow) about how armies with castles actually fight, which is a massive WTF for a small group of people and an un-noticed quirk for the vast majority. I'd already said that after Ep2 when the "battlefield" layout is shown during the "planning" phase, it just looked so wrong, even to someone whose just played a Total War type game :D

The Dothraki all died too easily...

But so many great moments.

Dragon dog fight
World War Z vibes
Night King survive dragon fire
“Come at me bro” and raises the dead
Arya kicks ass with her staff
Arya saves the dead. Didn’t see that coming!

A body, she's not Luke or Obiwan :D

To dust, I think.

There’s a scene in the earlier series with her in a bath not wearing the necklace at all.
Go figure.

Like others have said, too much plot armour, too dark to see what was happening half of the time (looked horrific on Now TV...), plus the death of the Night King felt very anticlimactic in the end.
