Conversely surely you only have to put stuff in spoiler tags in they actually contain spoilers. The one above is a very general question that only requires you saw the episode last week and regardless of whether they seen this week's episode or not. There are no spoilers in it.

I think, the fact he's left the nights watch too is quite relevant - without doing that he's not to get involved in the wars of the seven kingdoms

Anyone else feel this show is feeling a little rushed? Take Jon Snow for example, whilst it's been a story line that has been a literal year long, in terms of the show he was dead for just one episode and....

Ayra's blindness lasted just about 3/

I am glad She has Her sight back, as those training sessions were getting a bit tedious.

It does seem a bit daft to come into this thread if you haven't seen the latest episode yet, but on the other hand is it really that much of a bother to put things in spoiler tags? It's just a bit of common decency for those people who haven't watched it yet.

It's a pain in the backside having to unspoiler everything as you read the thread. And is it not more efficient to not spoiler everything and the minority to stay clear of the thread? it's this sort of pandering that gets my goat.

....for those binge-watching at later dates who watch it straight through will see these as minor plot points when they're supposed to be major ones.

not really - Jon dying is a pretty major plot point and in the timeline he is only dead for a day or two before being brought back so I'm not seeing an issue there, that there has been a wait for us between the seasons is immaterial

it isn't clear how long Arya's blindness has lasted, it seems to imply more than three days though but as we're beyond the books now I'm not sure this is a departure from what will happen in the book to come

I'm assuming, since the second showing is at 9pm, then anyone who hasn't already watched it will watch it then rather than look in here (you'd have to be really keen to keep OCUK GoT thread open whilst watching surely? ergo we're OK to discuss openly as of 9pm?

Really wish Cersi's son would grow some balls and slaughter that religious idiot and his club armed groupies. Otherwise good episode. Interested to see what Jon Snow gets up to next week...

there is apparently a group/forum thing on reddit called **** Olly :D to be fair I think they are right - Olly is a massive **** now and needs to die this season, preferably in one of the first three episodes

olly2.png

You realise that's not how this show works, right?

I'm not sure I see anything to suggest that dowie thinks that the existence of the group will affect the outcome of the story in any way?

No.... but he said he needs to die and in the first few episodes, this is gav is saying that's not how this show works, which is fair comment.

sorry but... it seems it is how it works :D :p

(as FrenchTart has pointed out I'm not referring to the existence of the group having an influence on this if that is what this_is_gav mistakenly thought I meant)

@dowie - I think my earlier comment was in error tbh though I still agree with what I said to some degree :p

Re spoilers, I've stayed away from this thread as I wanted to avoid them. However, it's really not a big deal to include them to "be nice" between the 02:00 and the 21:00 showings and book spoilers still have a place as despite the storyline having moved forward more in many cases for the tv show there's still absolutely tons of book-only back story that could give away things for the tv show.

Being considerate isn't pandering - it's being considerate.

When do people think we'll see inside the Tower, we're well beyond the books now regarding this?

Why were two of Rhaegar's best knights left to guard Lyanna Stark in that tower? Why did they still have something to protect after Rhaegar and the Mad King have been killed and the war lost...

Also he says to Ned Stark something about the wars to come

I'm pretty sure a commonly suspected fan theory has just has a whole load of evidence added to it from that TV show - can we post on that openly now as it is kind of apparent based on the show alone?

also I'd go one further

ref: a well known fan theory (nothing books related here but don't click if you're not aware or don't know of or haven't figured out this theory)
Rhaegar has married Lyanna Stark, their baby - almost certainly Jon Snow - is not a ******* but a legitimate Targarian which is why the knights have been left there to guard the tower and why one of them makes a comment about the wars to come even after knowledge of Robert's victory

if Jon was just a ******* then there wouldn't have been much point in that fight nor would there have been that comment made

speculation, on future episodes (edit actually not books, Torny at Harrenhall was discussed by little finger in series 5 so this can be speculated openly)

fan theory mentioned:
the show won't confirm R+L=J next episode but will drag it on I reckon

ref: above season 5 clip

I'd wager Bran's next vision will not be inside the tower (we'll be left hanging on that one I suspect) but probably be that Torny at Harrenhall where Rhaegar presents a flower to Lyanna Stark and Sansa comments that he kidnapped and raped her

we've just seen in the recent episode Bran commenting that the fight against the sword of the morning wasn't as described, how Dane was actually a better swordsman as his father and then exclamation 'he stabbed him in the back!'

so possibly we'll see Lyanna and Rhaegar fall in love in another vision after the Torny which again will contradict what he's been told about her being kidnapped, it has already been mentioned by others earlier in the series that they were in love IIRC Barristan Selmy. I'd also throw in that a vision where they've gotten married in a hurry would be interesting.

then once they've set the scene for that then we'll probably get to see inside the tower towards the end of the season and finally find out for sure why Lyanna/the tower had to be protected by those two knights even after they've been told the war is over and the mad king + Rhaegar have been killed

Completely agreed on those predictions dowie.

edit: Hold off on the fan theory in open posts tbh. Just use spoilers with fan theory mentioned - might be overkill but I'd prefer that a few of us end up clicking Show a couple of times or typing [ spoiler ] once or twice rather than people have things ruined for them.

Why can't you just not look at the thread then? The restrictions are really starting to get silly.

Because some of us are in the unfortunate position of having to moderate this forum and have an interest in GoT. It's really not difficult to use spoiler tags...

Anyway episode has aired now so as you were. I thought it was a good one and an intriguing ending!

He's gonna have a bit of a shock when he gets home to Winterfell :p

I mean does he even know the Bolton's aren't loyal anymore? He was pretty isolated up Norf.

Major spoiler, so don't click if you're one of those who clicks and then instantly regrets it.

Are you sure that he's headed off to Winterfell? Because at the end I'm pretty sure that he was traipsing off into the tunnel that leads to the frozen North rather than out of Castle Black's gates.
