^^ agreed about the tommen theory, they did have a long chat that we didn't see.

That whole arya scene was strange. It just seemed all so out of character for her. Either there is something fishy going on or the writing was just bad.

Love that the hound is back and about to go on a rampage.

Really surprising to see the brotherhood acting like that, if it's the brotherhood without banners. That was more in line with the kingswood brotherhood.

My theory on the Arya scene is that Arya was free to leave. The Faceless Men were happy to let her go. By sending Waif after her, they intended to see if she was ready to become an FM. She failed the test miserably.

How this helps Arya I'm not sure. There's probably more to it. Arya faked the wound? Maybe, but I suspect unlikely. It wasn't really Arya? I thought FMs could only wear the faces of dead men? Or maybe she was injured and Jaquen simply heals her and sends her on her way? Though I'm not sure her story can lose months to being bedridden with a gut wound...

The Arya scene was really off, I agree.

As some others have mentioned I kind of feel that there are two things going on here:

1) The story isn't as fleshed out as it was when the books were ahead of the series, meaning things seem a little...askew.

2) The TV show writers are having a lot of fun because now they don't have to follow the books quite so much. I reckon they might well be acting out a lot of fan theories "for lulz" because...why not? When the books come out things may change again.

I'm with you on the fan theories thing. I suspect they know which ones are/aren't true and are doing a certain amount of baiting.

TBH part of me still suspects Season 6 is one big troll. Never in Game of Thrones have the 'good guys' won so often. It's got to go Pete Tong before long (lul). My money is on Jon Snow dying again...

Jon dies rescuing Rickon, killing Ramsey in the process. Rickon becomes Lord of Winterfell (and King in the North?). Earlier that episode we find out Jon is Rhaegar's son :p Oh, and Mel now decides Tormund must be 'The Prince Who Was Promised'. She's sure she's right this time because '3rd time lucky'(?)...

Euron uses the GoT Time and Relative Dimensions in Space machine to beat Theon and Yara to Dany. Has them executed as traitors and thieves?

Drogon buggers off while on the journey over the Narrow Sea. Burns everyone at Riverrun. Turns the castle in to Harrenhall MK2.0

The Hound dies avenging his fallen friends. Cleganebowl never happens because who is stupid enough to let Cersei have a trial by combat when she has Zombie Gregor? I mean, really? Surely someone changed that law after Tyrion almost walked free?

These are all totally going to happen :p

I always thought the brotherhood claimed to be holy but were deep down total asses, hence selling off bar steward Barathian.

I am actually cheering on Sirsei against the high sparrow. I hate that guy so much!!! Gnuuuur so pious die die die.

Normal logic doesn't come into trial by combat/ordeal/whatever.

To disagree with the outcome would be to disagree with the decision of the gods.

The bloke who played Syrio was on thronecast tonight and had a good theory.

He reckons that jaqen told the waif to kill arya quick and don't let her suffer, but she missed the neck and stabbed her in the gut, thus making her suffer. This means that the waif has failed. Jaqen will take her face for her failure and use one of his specials vials to heal Arya quickly.

This seems a goer to me.

Yeah, it's totally at odds with their whole ethos. The fact that they changed the actor who portrayed Dondarrion, and we haven't seen Thoros or Gendry since season 3 suggests that the writers don't really have any idea what they're doing.

You mean from the chap in season 1? I don't think that's a sign of not knowing what they're doing, that's just tv for you. You can't hire a decent actor and keep him on retainer (if the show even makes it that far) for two years to make sure he's available when they finally need him.
You also can't have every plot arc from the books thrown in, never mind the season would need to be longer but imagine the simple logistics of it. Sets, locations, crews, cast at least a 1/3rd bigger (from what's already one of the biggest of any show ever made). It'd be too much. It's amazing they've accomplished what they have tbh and kept it coherent.

As for the brotherhood, either they're under new management or they've become that which they hated most. Something perfectly in keeping with the Game of Thrones world.

Anyone else notice the juxtaposition of the ending of this episode with the one n Season 4 where we last saw the hound?

In that Sandor was left dying with a stab wound in the stomach as Ayra walked off into the sunset and here we have the opposite happening.

Long live the Hound.

So glad he's alive!

Found myself almost cheering when I first saw him back. Clearly he wasn't going to die and am looking forward to Hound vs. Mountain!

Yes, I thought that as well. Ayra became the killer and Sandor showed a brief side to his tough nature.
