Wow. What a fantastic episode!!! The deaths, the music, the emotion....just wow.

Also very happy to see that Tyrion got a wish fulfilled :)

That is how you end a series! We knew Cersei was looking in to wildfire but I didn't expect quite so many casualties. It is a shame Margaery had to die too :( With how mad Cersei seems to have become I wonder if Jamie will be a Queen slayer soon too.

Edit: I had forgotten about the music too, they got it perfect for this episode.

Whats the story with baby Jon?

The war which placed Robert on the throne was initiated because Rhaegar Targaryen (the royal prince) allegedly kidnapped and raped Lyanna Stark, who was Roberts betrothed. Ned Stark went south to rescue his sister (after winning the war) and returned some time later with his ******* "son".

The reveal is that actually, he returned with his nephew (the child of Lyanna and Rhaegar) who is an heir to the throne. He pretended Jon was his son in order to hide him from Robert who would have killed Jon.

There is also the suggestion that Lyanna Stark was not raped and was in fact in love with Rhaegar, who was considered to be a good man. The implication of this is that the whole civil war fought to put Robert on the throne was fought under a false pretence.

What's the story with baby Jon?

He is Lyanna Stark's son and most likely the offspring of Rhaegar Targaryen. That's why she made Ned promise to keep him safe from Robert, who wanted all Targaryens dead. Ned lied by saying he was his own ******* child and that Rhaegar had killed Lyanna during the "kidnapping". This would make him Daenerys's nephew with pretty major implications on his claim to certain thrones and future alliances.

Littlefinger is going to mess things up for everyone! I think Sansa realised Jon being declared King does not fit in at all with Peter gaining the throne. After his little speech (where he let his guard down probably for the first time ever) effectively telling Sansa everything he does is toward that goal and anything in his way gets removed, I think she realises he's a real threat to Jon now.

Where do we think Dany will land her ships on Westeros? Straight for King's Landing?

Or is there another twist - intercepted by Euron Greyjoy and her inexperienced fleet battered?

What an episode!! The series was, imo, quite slow in places but that finale made up for everything! It upsets me that it'll be a massive wait for the next one! Whens the book out? I wonder if the book will go beyond this series?

Littlefinger and Euron Greyjoy will have some major parts to play in how the story is influenced from here until the end. I can't see Danny having an easy trip to and across Westeros, although at the moment everything is looking rather peachy for her and we all know what Littlefinger is like and how devious he can be.

Looking very forward to the twists and turns the last two seasons through at us, it's all far from a done deal.

The season finale was absolutely outstanding. I was so happy watching it; my emotions were all over the place. A triumph! :D

I loved it when the Faith Militant were blown to bits - superb.

I take it Tommen committed suicide? I saw him take his crown off and walk away but not after that.

Jaime and Cersei are in love with each other as much as they have ever been - they will never separate.

Ayra owned Frey and that was great and the fan suggestions about Jon Snow were proved correct. I was also really pleased to see that Sansa turned Littlefinger down.

I am just gutted it'll be another 12 months before more :(

really enjoyed the episode as soon as they chanted for snow i thought ahah little finger wont be happy then it panned to him like a little fox looking at sansa :p

you know its probably going to be that little rat killing john at some point :(

Cersei i really like as a character and not to bad on the eyes :D

great bit also the reveal about where john maybe linked to that family is if known about going to be interesting.to say the least.

I see a lovers squabble between jamie and cersei. The look on his face when she took the throne was one of 'oh **** all my kids are dead and you killed Tommen' to me.

Yeah it was a quick scene, I needed to rewind it and double check I had seen what I thought I did. :p
It wasn't quick. It was very well drawn out. He stood there looking at the remains of the church, and took his crown off. That made me think he was about to jump, but didn't. He walked off screen as the camera watched the burning church for what felt like an age. And then you heard the footsteps coming back and it was clear he was gonna jump. Amazing scene.

Book spoiler:
One thing that worries me as a book reader is euron had some kind of magic horn that burns the user when blown. It hinted at being some form of dragon type device, perhaps to tame them or at least dismiss them, not sure if the series depicted that at all, but Danny's fleet is filled with foot soldiers not sailors, so without dragon cover she's vulnerable to a larger more experience naval force.

As for Jamie, he is seeing cersei become the mad king, the person he is reviled for killing despite it being an act to save the city from wildfire. The prophecy days she'll lose her kids and die to either a younger brother or someone younger and more beautiful (some differing points depending on book and show and it's open to interpretation.) But Jamie is her younger twin, there is tyrion and of course danny, sansa perhaps too.
