You won a bidding war against no one. Don't get me wrong Newcastle are doing superb but there's fewer more inflated prices than Gordon to Newcastle. A price we were comfortable in paying. There’s a difference.

Forest was throwing money at us in the Window we just past it onto Everton with a few bob on top.

We are prepared to take a risk and slightly cheaper younger players like Botman/Gordon etc

There’s a player under that Clair Balding wig somewhere.

If Howe can’t get it out then I very much doubt anyone can.

I like what I’ve seen so far in small glimpses.

Defensive spitting passes. Ability on the ball.

It’s clear he’s not fit. Was completely gassed in the first half against Southampton in which he should have scored.

At the end of the day if he’s fails at Newcastle he’s still young that we could recoup a good bit of the transfer fee.
 
Hope none of these rumours are true, I don't know what CL qualification will do to our spending budget and how it will change our wage structure, but there are rumours circulating about Neymar and Ronaldo. Can usually take them with a.linch of salt though.

I don't think Eddie wants any big egos from older established players near the squad. I'm also hearing that ASM will be sold this summer. Some talent will be available from the teams relegated, wouldn't be surprised to see us compete for the signature of JWP.

Marathon is different to repeated sprints though. I reckon most ex footballers could probably do sub 3hr marathons if they've kept up the fitness and not gone bulky like Andy Cole. They'd likely struggle to play a proper game now though against younger folks in their prime. That said, naming no names, there are certain current players who look a bit off the pace.

Aye you‘d have to imagine with the fitness of players these days I’d expect most premier league players could do a sub 3 hour marathon.

More chance of me doing one mind than Neymar or Ronaldo signing for Newcastle.
