Winter Transfer window 24/25

Arsenal are in a situation not too dissimilar to Liverpool from 2018(ish). You have a very good squad and there won't be a huge number of players out there that will actually improve it. Equally you're not Man City and can't afford to spend £50m+ on somebody and then try to replace them in 6 months if they don't work out. The consequence of those two things are that you will now have to be very selective over who you go for because if you spend big and it doesn't work out, it will impact you for more than just 6 months.

I think thats why we went for watkins

Sesko would be risky for the money it would take to get him

I do wonder if the bid for watkins was to make it easier to land him in the summer

I suspect Villa may have preferred to sell Watkins and kept Duran and had Arsenal really wanted Watkins then you'd have got him. I've not followed your transfer talk enough to know if Sesko is your main target but Watkins felt like a bit of a compromise to me given your need for somebody short-term.

Being nitpicking, he isn't quoted as saying a striker, just the need for goals
Yeah reading the whole thing you're right, some very selective uses of quotation marks. One journalist did the same thing with Amorim this week saying he wanted a striker when it just said he wanted more attacking options.

We made an offer with an option to buy and it was rejected. Seems they either wanted an obligation or 5m fee for a loan with no purchase options.

Ferguson gone to West Ham on a loan. I wish him nothing but the best, he needs some game time so hopefully Potter can offer him that.

He looked some player until he got plagued with injury after injury, and hasn’t found that form again. He just looks a bit slow and lost at the moment.

Guess no point signing someone if they not the right fit and all that.... :o

Sky Sports News' Gary Cotterill at the Emirates:

"I'm told and it is my understanding that there will be no ins and no outs today at Arsenal and indeed in the whole of January.

"No business, we understand, at Arsenal."

^ And I bet there be no more business for Man Utd aswell strap yourself in fans for a bumpy ride.
