Wireless flash triggers

Ordered, £43 for 1x receiver and 2x transmitters, I need to get an additonal sync cable to plug into lights as the kit only comes with 1 and I will have 2x lights but I am tempted to just wing it with an additional 430EX to be totally wire free though, will probably be the better option.

I can't find it :(

at least i can't find the ones that says 5D2 on them !

Mine arrived today, build quality seems superb, no different to the £100 (each) Bowens Pulser units I had at the weekend.

Tested all works nicely, now just need to get either another flashgun or a studio light + 2 brollys and a stand and I'll be set!

Does the flash need to be adjusted manually or does it do auto mode?

You can leave it in auto (ETT-L) and it will work just fine or you can flip the flashgun to manual mode and adjust power manually. Basically no different to it being attached to the camera :p

ETT-L Won't work properly, that only works with the newer pocket wizards and the radio poppers.

I'm not saying it wont fire in ETT-L mode but it is definitely not working out the correct zoom and power based on information from the camera.

It does work if you fire an FEL at the scene - I guess this is part manual but it does work. in full auto (ETTL displayed on the flash LCD) it will fire depending on your scene lighting - from my testing so far anyway, theonly downside being that if the scene is mildly dim then the flash may overcompensate and dial in a higher FEV.

Edit*

Scratch that, I was testing it wrong!

The dining table at home is frosted glass, I placed the flash below pointing up and placed some objects on the glass for some macro testing:

Softboxing should be a piece of cake using these!

I'm looking into getting some kind of off camera flash setup and these seem quite a good buy, the single receiver kit is £27.99 but what are the supplied cables used for if its a wireless system?

You can cable into studio lights to set them off wirelessly with the cables as well as mentioned above, wireless shutter release (with full/partial shutter release).

The trigger also has a PC Sync connector.

It's basically 2 items in one ;p

Just a quick heads up on these, they are £18.60 delivered from a very reliable far east shop which takes paypal.

I can't post the link.....

Just thought i would mention it so you guys can cut out ebay :)

I'm such an idiot. I knew you could put the receiver on the hotshoe to use it as a wireless shutter release, but it didn't even cross my mind that you could still use the spare receivers on flashes!!!

Thanks for posting this.

EDIT: Awesome, just tested it as I have 3 receivers. So I was able to wirelessly trigger the shutter and two other flashes. I don't have much use for this but it'll make self portraits easier if I ever decide to do some :)
