Witcher 3

I only wanted to guide for help with recipes etc and collectables, I won't use it for missions or treasures etc.

Plus it looks real nice as a CE.

Ventured into Velen. Got my arse handed to me a fair few times by high level bandits and deserters. Literally, the first place I waltzed into was full of them. This game is very unforgiving especially if you forget to save :(

I'm only level 4. Feeling like anything I do I'm not gaining many levels. I really don't want to carry on with the main quest.. I want to do all the side quests first. But they all seem much higher level than me. So I can't really do them.

This really has that World of Warcraft unforgivingness in the levelling system about it. I was expecting a skyrim experience where the world levels with you but no, step off the path in the wrong place and it's good night. And as you are free to roam from day one, it is very easy to end up in the wrong place.........

Love it.

Also for people asking about the guide and why have one, I use the guide as an overview of the area maps, items, crafts and to make sure I have found all the side quests etc. I don't use it as a walk through for the quests though or to spoil the plot.

What signs are people generally using by the way? I am maxxing the Quen (shield) one and using that mostly, it takes 2/3 attacks generally or one from a really strong monster.

Quen and Axii for me. Put a bit in to Igni as well to riff off a blue mutagen. I do wish I could reset my abilities though as I'd make slightly different choices given the chance to start again.

Very tempted to pick a PS4 and this up in the near future. Looks awesome and hopefully the performance can only improve as they continue to patch it.

Isn't there a potion you can buy that resets your points?

Jesus, love this game! Game of the decade for me never mind GOTY.

Toughest monster I've yet to face is on the Triss Merigold quest.

that god damn vampire/kattakan in the sewers, it just regenerates faster than I can do dps. Got my *** handed to me about 20 times before I managed to kill it through sheer luck

any tips for the botchling?, with all the wraith's he spawns this fight is starting to remind me of Bloodborne..

use the magic trap sign, wait for a wraith to move/teleport into the trap, dodge it's initial attack then just wail on it with light attacks... be ready to dodge if others get in the way. repeat

the magic tap slows it down and makes it vulnerable to physical attacks
