Witcher 3

Played an hour or so tonight, can already tell this is a game that you can seriously get your teeth into.

I'm hooked. Put 17(!) hours in already according to the Xbox. The game world is truly massive and really detailed. More Red Dead or GTA than TES/DA. I'm really enjoying just roaming around, seeing what's going on, helping out random people.

top tip for ppl struggling with combat use dodge over roll as roll uses stamina and dodge uses nothing so you can save stamina for signs. sunk 18 hours into this game so far its my favourite game of this gen so far.

Also struggling with one of the treasure hunt quests I found on White Orchard notice board. It just tells me to "read the letter I found", but I've read everything I own and the quest just doesn't progress.

If it's the Dirty Funds quest then it's a known bug if you effectively complete the quest without reading the letter.

So seeing all the comments on here sealed the deal for me, so i purchased this last night. I only get an hour each other night to play so i think this will keep me on until Battlefront :D.

Questions: Are you guys changing weapons and Armour as you go? I got a weapon last night which is marginally better than the 'witcher' sword. Just on the slight offchance i mess up. I don't need to keep the starting weps?

Still trying to get used to the buttons. Forgetting to click the thumbsticks to target the monsters. I also think it should auto change to the closet target. Noticing im swinging willy nilly in the air for a mob thats at the back.

I'm upgrading the weapons as i find them, and selling the rubbish that i don't need anymore. Including the original first two starting swords. I've crafted a couple of good swords so far too. (Emerald dust cost me an arm and a leg, 500 or so coins) :D

I think it does change to the closest target automatically? Well i'm pretty sure it does for me! Cant wait to finish work today and get home to play this :D

Same, didn't really notice the price then wondered why I was so skint :)

Probably a dumb question but what's the real point in two swords if you can only use one at once?

Silver for monsters, other for humans?

Yes, explains it in one of the cut scenes at the beginning.

Great, will start selling and upgrading. Just curious if i had to keep it with the name Witcher in there. Thought it was one that may of progressed with the character.

Have only managed 2 at a time as well. Any more is difficult. However they are pretty easy to aggro one or two away to be honest. I think that the AI I have seen so far is not that great. Would be good to see the mobs acting with some sort of intelligence tbh.

At one hour per night it will last you till the next battlefront :D

one thing i love about this game is the details, i didn't realise till late last night that your hair and beard grow

Its an absolutely massive game. Am I being thick or are none of the cities actually named on the map? They have names, they just don't have names on the map. The other thing is that some quests seems very hard to complete because you get to a point where you have no markers to follow. The odd one has resolved itself by accident (or clever design) while doing other quests but some are just dead in the water.

Some of the scenery is absolutely amazing in this game. I do wish I could fall slightly further without dying sometimes. I have died probably 20 times from falling. 15ft seems about enough to die sometimes!
