Witcher 3

Ok that's promising, I'd prefer it on PS4 anyway tbh as I'd use a controller. I have this thing about playing games on PC with a controller.
Re playing the others, I think it helps to get some references and such but nor sure it's essential

Utterly gorgeous. But, I've never played the Witcher games before. Will it be necessary to play the others first?

Nah, mate you will not need to have played the other two, CD Projekt Red have said that this will be a standalone game, meaning that you will not need to have played the previous installments to enjoy and understand it, they will also add some small back story/prologue at the start so to speak to help new players understand the lore and make it small enough to not annoy true fans.

But basically no you will not need to have played the previous games.

Maaaaaaaaaan I can’t wait for this game :)

My mate has been talking about this a lot recently and I only just watched some of the videos. Holy ****, it looks amazing! I haven't played either of the other two, but this is a definitely purchase for me!

Yeah it looks great from what I've seen so far.

Also, they released this statement last week, which was quite refreshing:

We love games. We love collecting them, playing them, and everything connected to that experience. Every time we reach out for a new release, we expect to be taken care of. We expect support if we encounter any problems, we love updates constantly improving the experience, and we feel really special when we receive free content that gives us more than we initially paid for. It doesn’t have to be huge, it can be an awesome skin for a character, or an extra sword, or armour.

Unfortunately this treatment is quite rare these days. As gamers, we nowadays have to hold on tight to our wallets, as surprisingly right after release, lots of tiny pieces of tempting content materialise with a steep price tag attached. Haven’t we just paid a lot of cash for a brand new game?

As CD Projket Red, we strongly believe this is not the way it should work and, with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, we have decided to do it differently. Cutting to the chase, everyone who buys Wild Hunt will receive 16 specially prepared DLCs absolutely for free, regardless of platform. You don’t have to pre-order, you don’t have to buy any special edition to get them – if you own a copy of Wild Hunt, they’re yours. This is our way of saying thank you for buying our game.

Thats fantastic, thats how these companys should be treating their fans/gamers,
massive respect to CD Project Red.

16 peices of DLC for FREE?? Legends.

Highly recommend reading the books if you want to get more into the lore and characters! This game seems like its going to continue on from them in some way, the wild hunt is mentioned in the books etc

Im on the 3rd and really enjoying it, not all have been translated though however some have been fan-translated online

Delayed til May 19th - actually a far better time to release it for me personally as its gonna eat the hours during the summer games drought

ps3ud0

Cant wait for this loved the first two games. Just hope it is as challenging

oo and
Polish developer CD Projekt Red has revealed resolution and frame-rate specifications for upcoming open-world role-playing game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The game will run in 1080p/30fps on PlayStation 4 and 900p/30fps on Xbox One, it has now been confirmed.

new gameplay posted last week for those interested:

Witcher 2 was one of my favourite games of 2011, so really looking for to this. If they can get the pacing to work well with the open world design then it should be amazing.

Looks great but the horse trot/galloping noise got right on my nerves. It was the same sound no matter what terrain it was on.
