It's a bit ridiculous that VAR is overruling offside decisions like that, as if a toe being offside is going to give the striker such as advantage. I much preferred it when there had to be 'daylight', as in it had to be a clear offiside to the eye and not using some computer generated ruler across the pitch.

It's no difference though. If you do that then you'd get people saying "oh well it's only a finger's width of daylight"
 
They could do something like in cricket where if something 50/50 it goes with the onfield decision, how do we even know the computer generated line is accurate?

That would cause even more issues. As annoying as it is for us tonight, offside is offside, and should be called as so.

Indeed, the England goal against Cameroon I think it was had the line drawn as if the ball was played with the left foot, whilst in fact it was played with the right foot, made about a foots difference. It wasn’t offside but made it look more onside than it really was.
 
There is clear contact there on Ellen White's foot, if they don't give a penalty then it's a complete farce.
