Women's World Cup 2019 Thread

You can't catch players when running behind them, it's a foul anywhere else on the pitch so in the area it's a penalty, that's 3 missed penalties now so really don't deserve to go through, also the defence are so poor it's unreal, the amount of times the ball has been given away is ridiculous

Normally its whilst running and you don't have such exaggerated leg movements when at practically a stand still, and it is pretty obvious what the chasing player is doing.

I'm not sure why she even needed to swing her leg back so much. Just place the ball in, practically an open goal.

Doesn't matter, she was caught by the defender hence it's a foul, as I said way earlier in the thread England have been very poor in defence during this tournament and a better team would punish them.

This is my bone of contention with VAR in general

Its only a goal / goal-kick or throw-in when the whole thing is over the line - yet with VAR they want humans to be robots and measure to the mm / inch if they are over the line (when linesmen cant even do it from an easier angle) - this is never going to happen and will end up ruining the game ….if it hasn't already ruined it

It would make more sense saying the whole boot (to follow the rule above) has to be over the line for it to be offside - otherwise its to the attackers benefit

England where a little unlucky tonight - but in general their passing was atrocious and ruined so much attacking chances (and put more pressure on our own defence) by snatching at passes - the USA probably deserved to win ….if only by such an awful penalty
