What's the criteria for qualifying for this freebie?

I'm guessing being on income support of some kind?

Will that actually make a huge difference? I guess it all helps.

Which benefit are you on? The list is below. Payments are FROM today until the end of July. If you are not on any of those benefits the government is giving you £400 later in the year.

A total of 8.4 million are set to get the benefits - with those qualifying including Universal Credit, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA), income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), Income Support, Pension Credit, Child Tax Credit or Working Tax Credit. The qualifying period for these seven benefits was between April 26, 2022 and May 25, 2022.

There’s enough of an uproar already if you look at FB. Lot of workers screaming that they should get it too. I can understand their frustration but the cost is too prohibitive
