Woolwich serious incident

I must say, I'm enjoying reading this thread purely because I've never seen such a large group of people be so irrational. As I said before, many of you have suddenly jumped on your high-horses and wrongly accused the Islam "race" of being a bunch of extremist terrorists. It'd be expected that events such as those that happened today would provoke this sort of reaction, but I can't quite understand the concepts that you are arguing.

I would do some maths, but I honestly can't be bothered. However what I will say is that the world population is 6.7billion people. London is around 8million. Now if we compare the ratio of violent crimes like this to the population of London it'll help to show how completely unreasonable it is to brand an entire race, religion or ethnicity as extremist terrorists.

So the old testament isn't part of modern Christian theology?, you are the one who said I wouldn't be able to find anything about killing infidels.

I believe the term for what you are doing is called "moving the goalposts".

Come off it, you've quoted from Deuteronomy, Exodus, Isaiah and 2Chronicles - 4 books of the 52 contained within the Bible. Most Christians I've met don't even bother reading those books these days (anyone who has tried to read Deuteronomy will understand why). It's hardly the Bible encouraging people to go out and kill infidels as you claim.

We've been involved in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and to some extent Mail...

these guys are (allegedly) of Somali origin... aside from some anti piracy patrols and support to the govt we're not massively involved there

The only link these guys have is a shared belief in the magic sky pixie followed by people in some other countries we have been involved in. Its not our foreign policy at fault in this particular instance... its a messed up set of beliefs resulting from an extreme interpretation of Islam.

They are political allies, they are involved in the same way we are involved because of our backing of our allies the US. You know these other countries also have allies? There involvement is just as our involvement.

I dont, i think what they have done is sick and deplorable, but im not that delusional to believe what our country is doing in other countries isnt just as sick and a direct response was bound to happen.

Don't be silly, that basic logic and unbiased viewpoint won't work here!!

E...... E...... E D L

E...... E...... E D L

Come on guys aren't you meant to be heading up Woolwich along with all your other knuckle-dragging buddies for a protest ?? MUPPETS!

I didn't imply the bible directly did to everyone - just that I could find material in the bible which did.

Which directly refuted your claim, not mine.

What I'm saying is I could read the bible & selectively pick sections out to justify pretty much anything (as extremists do with most religions).

Some people on Twitter are probably getting slightly confused.

They've started tweeting 'RIP David Collins' thinking he was the guy killed today. David Collins was in fact killed by a Somalian in Cyprus a while ago.

Unless they're both called David Collins! That would be some coincidence.

Just as peaceful Muslims don't ascribe to the violent bits in their religious text, funny that.

Crazy people have and always will take religion out of context to justify their crazy, but that doesn't mean that the majority do.

Thing is that there are christian religious extremists in the world who do read and beleive the old testament and carry out killings on it's behalf.

You have to remember the Koran is subject to translation/interpration errors.

Equally the bible is written about 800 years after the event based on 8000 translataions carried out several hundred years earlier with no reference to the original text and a panel of people decided which bits to leave in or miss out.

It's all a crock of **** on both sides if you ask me and just gives people an excuse to do evil deeds in the name of religion.

Quite, religion is used to justify many acts, including the not entirely innocent west.

lol google fail. Guess if you google "somalian, stab, british soldier" you come up with loads of hits for the guy stabbed in Cyprus. Obviously these idiots don;t even click the link to read the article unless they think Cyprus is a part of Woolwich?

But you're happy to support their argument that they're just "soldiers killing soldiers", in my book that makes you a pretty disgusting individual.

Yeah war is horrible, we didn't start it but I sincerely hope the West remembers how to play and finishes it. Ultimately who do you want to win, your mujahadeen "brothers" or Great Britain and the West?

But they did, they didn’t attack any civilians even though they had the chance to, heck they were talking to civilians at ease and in peace. They attacked a soldier and only the soldier specifically and in fact stated why they did what they did.

We did start it in Iraq; did Afghanistan attack us at the time? No

I believe every country has the right to be free of occupation and free from foreign conquering empires. I wish Britain would be free of retaliatory attacks, but the only way that is going to happen is if we stop attacking others.
