Wordle ** WARNING: THERE ARE PROBABLY HINTS TO THE DAILY WORD IN HERE **

I use a logical system, but one I made up around how my brain works, so the first two words generally are always the same, this yields in most cases 3-4 letters, but I hover just under or just over an average of 4 guesses. I've improved because the more you do it, the more common groupings of letters leap out, and where their could be multiple lettters, if it's 3 or more, I generally burn a word with as many of those letters to eliminate or find the right one.

Still, you aren't sucking the fun, there are so many ways to cheat at Wordle, you just look at those regularly getting it in '2' with 'lucky' guesses and pretty much it's a cert they are cheating, the red flag is those with long term averages under 3 are always cheating, Its not statistically possible to do that without a degree of luck that could be sold for many millions.. (e.g. https://www.poirrier.ca/notes/wordle-optimal/#:~:text=In hard mode, Wordle can,for their respective objective functions.)

Even the best algorithms aren't that good, I'm following a few and doing my own computational solutions to it and I've not seen anything yet that gets close to an average of 3 guesses.. I've seen two that seem to manage 3.3 over a longish term, but actually when run over the entire known wordle dictionary are still over 3.4.

I find that part interesting because my goal is simply to write a software solution that is better than I can personally do 'manually'.. I'm not there yet but admit that's just due to my relative lack of experience/intelligence..
Interesting. That link has some great analysis, which appears logically sound to a non-expert. Even as someone who isn’t a logistician/programmer, it’s easy to see how multiple guesses in 2 aren’t really feasible. It appears that 3s are possible, but on average, 3-4 guesses are most likely in the long run.

I think what’s really interesting, is that a lot of people seem to get 3s and 4s using a fuzzy logic, poorly disciplined, gut-feeling approach. The human mind is quite something.

3 again today. After the second round I had four letters and the combination meant I knew the order, so the remaining letter became a good percentage choice. Haven't managed it in under 3 yet.

Not sure if it's random or favours a certain type of word but I got it in 3 today.
I got ;) :( ;) :( :( then :p :p :p :( :( and instantly had a feeling it would be something vague and not often used, like they try to make it hard on purpose. Got it on the 3rd go

Think about what you post, if it could be considered a hint in any way whatsoever then DO NOT post it.

I don't do this game but you people realise that even saying the solution is a tricky one, or is a vague, unusual word is effectively giving a hint, right?

It's entirely dependent on your first word.

There are no "tricky" ones. It's only tricky if your first word(s) are well off the mark, which is entirely down to luck.

Im saying basically I don't think any of the words will be something used often, like DANCE. It's not a hint in any way shape or form to suggest that the words they use are not random. Not unless you somehow know every word in the dictionary that I might consider unusual.
What a stupid comment to make. That's like saying that you can guess the lottery numbers because I think the numbers don't appear often.

No it's not, if a few people comment that the word is unusual then it really does indicate it's something less common.

This post from a few days ago nails it.

Today just goes to show how even the most innocuous outside information can be a spoiler. Was on FB before doing todays word and couldn’t avoid seeing that a couple of friends had got it in 2. Once I’d put my usual first word in which gave me the vowel(s) it was then fairly obvious to me what the word was.
