Got it in 3 yesterday, less well today but it's amazing how quickly a few clues helps you zone in on the word.

Never played this bloomin' thing before heard about it on the radio and thought what on earth... Just tried it didn't have a clue what I was supposed to do but just randomly entered a 5 letter word and... figured it out, I think. Spent quite a few minutes scratching my head trying to think of words that matched the matching previous letters
Anyway got it in 4

Struggled with today's word, but got it in 5.
The only time I ever heard it was in relation to a famous historical event.
