5th go, after getting the last 4 letters it took 2 more goes to get the right one.

Got it on the 2nd attempt today, lucky guess on the 1st

tricky one today as once those last 4 were in it could have been many words.

Would still require pure luck to get this in 3 or 4 though as there are just so many possible words it could be by just changing one letter (ie you would need to potentially waste a few goes on nonsense words that wouldnt work just to go through all the possible consonants).

I burn up a word with the possible characters it might be or as many as I can (it's ok to omit one character since if the others don't hit it must be that one) sometimes it is hard to think of a word that has those characters in, but it's go me out a hole a couple of times now!

I'm not that bothered what it's called or who's created it, it's the same game and same UI - will happily keep me entertained

I am fully aware of that. I am saying that for today's word, there was still no way of doing this because of just how many different words it could have been based on the starting letter.

Aghhh that was a hard one today, did it in six! It was between two words on the last one. 50/50 chance and I managed to choose the right one.

That's exactly what happened to me!

Wouldn't have made a difference. There were too many possibilities it could have been. Likely would have wasted the same amount of tries with words that definitely were incorrect.

You only need 2 guesses to find the right one. SHELF + TERMS for example.
And there's more than 50% chance you'll find the right answer in your first guess so it's much more effective than going through each possibility one-by-one

That's true. That would have been more effective in terms of probability.

I guess you could either choose to definitley have it in 2 or 3 more tries, or guess at it and hope you get lucky, or at least equal the 3.
