Words that grind my gears!

" I CANT STOP LAUGHING " <- You must've stopped by now otherwise you'd be in hospital.
" EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT IT " <- Everyone isn't talking about it, just you!
" Let me be clear about this " <- Should've been clearer in the first bloody place!
" Education, Education, Education " <- What saying it once isn't enough you've got to say it three times?

What's yours? :D

"I cant wait to go"

Well unfortunately you cant time travel, so you're going to have to wait!

Here's a new one that I saw people using on Twitter

" This game is COOKED "

How is a game cooked? 60C in the oven before release?

Argh, the 3rd one. Politicians.

"Let me be absolutely clear - I'm not here to actually answer your questions; instead I'm going to give you a pre-arranged spiel which answers absolutely nothing, but has been authorised by our PR machinery. Let's be absolutely clear about that."

“Stop the boats” :D

Interesting use of an imperative. Sorry I’m busy today.

Also, “conflating”. A little patronising.

Brought instead of bought, or as I see often, "breaks" instead of "brakes" seems fair enough, Otherwise, I don't see the issue, all the OPs examples are simple uses of language that convey a high degree of emphasis.. Why would you take a black and white literal approach?

Maybe that's the difference between a technical author writing user manuals and Shakespeare writing plays.. Each to their own!
