work creeps

Call me old fashioned but a think a good kicking does people good.

The problem is people are too protected and then are free to continue crappy behaviour.

You want to prance about like a nob? get punched like one, i'm not talking you beat someone up badly but a stern slap to get them to check their behaviour.

It did me good getting my ass kicked (boxing classes).
Wow really? You think people should be getting beaten up in the toilets at work? FFS, it isn't secondary school, its work.

If the person in the OP is really a douche, then the management will probably find it hilarious and not promote the nobber anyway because they will realise he would be bad for staff morale.

I've worked with many people like this over the years. Three things happen to them usually in my experience.

1. In a large firm, quick promotion & transfer, never seen again.

2. Their keenness to impress the bosses get's them snowed under with work & they do 2-3 peoples work - ill due to stress & leave.

3. Become unstuck due to their attitude with others, HR is called in & are forced to leave.

He's been standing outside the canteen at breaks writing down people who take more than 10 minutes (and reported fellow appos for it)

report him for stalking

the idea of fixed time breaks is a bit archaic in itself...

I mean if you want to take 17 mins at 11am to go get a coffee because you've been flat out since you started then WTF is the issue

Also if he's monitoring people for longer than 10 minutes, isn't he himself taking more than 10 minute breaks and therefore not doing his damn job? Not that I think the '10 minute break' is a good idea, but if it's going to be enforced surely he is the worst one for not obeying it?

Sounds like a real scrote, he'll be forced out before long, especially if the actual managers agree with you like you said.

In seriousness, I'd suggest just not worrying about it. People like him are in every workplace and they usually wind up on the wrong side of someone important. If you're chummy with any of the managers maybe just mention off the record that he's rubbing the staff up the wrong way. That way they're aware (although im sure they already are) and it probably wont last that long.

Is he somebody's nephew?

Follow him around with a notepad and note down every time he starts taking notes.
Stand about 4 feet away and don't make eye contact...pretend you're not really there.

Haha, that was a good one. :p

Maybe the guy has aspergers. It is possible for people to be genuinely unaware they are being a huge **** .....just saying.
