work creeps

Yeah, its exactly these sort of people that get management jobs,Pretty much all the Supervisors/managers i have had before,Had absolutely no people skills and would stab you in the back in a heartbeat if it makes them look good to their uppers.

That is because we are a nation invested in managing people, so much so I think a lot of people have forgotten that it should be leadership we strive for.

I've actually lost jobs for getting my hands dirty and helping out the lads lower down the chain so we could head home sooner, they didn't like my management style.

I'm ok with that, I'd rather be a leader than a manager anyway :D

We had one very similar at an old workplace. He was the same level as us, but he thought himself to be management material. He used to walk around with a clipboard and one of those pens on a string around his neck which he'd tap against the side of the clipboard when getting right up in peoples faces. He'd scribble down the names of anyone who took the obligatory 30 minute dump, nipped outside for a fag or went over the allotted break time. He used to be on the end of some vicious abuse.

I remember on time him pushing his luck just too far and getting on the wrong side of the forklift guys in bulk out, he ended up shrink-wrapped inside a box and placed for delivery.

Bwahhaha OWNED! :D

In a number of industries, he'd still get a little contact counselling.

Yeah in my old job we had a old school guy. Caught a newbie not wearing his safetygear so took him outside and planted him one.

When asked why he just said "he won't forget to wear his harness again will he?"

So this guy, has no authority, is wasting his time (and probably charging the company) for duplicate process?

The worst situation is that people claim that all production improvements are doing to their monitoring and paperclip pushing... and management believe.

When i look back over my non illustrious career, i'd say a good 50% maybe 75% of the time there's always someone like that at work.....

Can't stand 'em.. Find its usually women who want to parade around like they're management... Sometimes they do actually get what they're gunning for, which is the worst part. The only way out, is quit and work for yourself, but that comes with a different set of stressors.... Like where's my next pay check going to come from !!!!

So gotta take the good with the bad amigo's. Working for someone else, always means, you're gonna get paid, but you will not get to chose who your work colleagues are !

Funny this, my cousin works at this factory and he's an apprentice (i think 3rd year).. I hope it isn't him doing this to you guys! Jacob is his name just incase :')

Short and retarded?

Drives a ford ka?

Also if he's monitoring people for longer than 10 minutes, isn't he himself taking more than 10 minute breaks and therefore not doing his damn job? Not that I think the '10 minute break' is a good idea, but if it's going to be enforced surely he is the worst one for not obeying it?

Sounds like a real scrote, he'll be forced out before long, especially if the actual managers agree with you like you said.

No one really monitors the breaks as long as you don't take the puss and stay for half an hour no one cares. He got royally *******ed by his manager today for being disrespectful today lol.

All the mangers are teasing the manager that's going to get him lol

stitch him up, even if it means you need to lie, he will **** off enough people to gain allies.

plant him with some tools, or work owned material, then stick him in, then watch him deny it in investigation, if he isn't sacked he will get the message.

Not where I worked - They were promoted out of the way to a different department - Then a few years later reappear as your boss.

Two things got you promotion - being a gimp and seniority -- ie - dead man shoe job.:(:(

Same where I worked. They usually turn out to be totally incompetent as well.

So looks like come November were getting a new member on our team on of the appos coming out of his time and he's a proper creep.

He thinks he's gonna be the manager of the whole site etc but if going about it in an utterly ****** way some of the **** he's pulled so far;

In his second year on day release at college they finish at 6 however when the last class is done (usually early) it's always been the appos go home so usually half 5 etc, his year did this he then phoned the training school and reported them all.

In the factory he goes around telling people to put their hats and glasses on and when they don't goes and gets a manager to tell them to.

He's been standing outside the canteen at breaks writing down people who take more than 10 minutes (and reported fellow appos for it)

Last week he came into his shift in a pale blue shirt (this is the managers colour floor lads are navy blue) he'd had embroidered with airbus and his name. (And got the royal puss ripped out of him for it)

He really does seem to think snitching on people is the way to get himself promoted (it isnt), but it's gonna be highly amusing but equally annoying.

Anyone els ever had someone like this in their work and what happened to them?
I work with a guy like this.

He reported me for looking at websites (while I had 4 queries running locking up my machine) - the manager laughed at him as I'm the most productive member of the department), he reported another for being late, he's reported somebody for checking their phone once & the nail on the coffin was reporting somebody over minor H&S issues (like leaving a coat on a table for example).

I'd smother him in his sleep if it was legal.
