Self employed... it has no perks other than the chance to claim back expenses.

Of course it's a perk - why should employment come with free refreshments? Same goes for people's comments about free wifi being a "basic necessity" - it just isn't.

The money that can be gained from claiming expenses vastly outweighs most of the "perks" in this thread.
At my new job:
- Bonus (target is 15% assume you meet expectations)
- Share bonus (~8% but is at managers discretion)
- Decent pension
- Private medical
- Company car (car or cash)
- Life assurance/income protection/personal accident insurance
- Flexible benefits (get £3k to spend on shares, gym membership, dental, optical cover, retail vouchers, travel insurance etc etc)
- Share save scheme
- 28 days holiday

Phone and BB paid for.

Have a choice of some new hardware every year, at very heavily discounted rate, my 47" LG 3D TV cost me £250. Also Ipads, smartphones etc to choose from.
Share save scheme.

- Car allowance (no real prerequisites.
- 15% boxus.
- 29 days holiday & 4 Bank Holidays (25/26 Dec, 1/2 Jan).
- Decent Training online or in Houston/Dubai.
- Flexible hours if required.
- Healthcare.
- Dental.
- Pension scheme with company doubling your contribution (max 8% doubled).
- Company Share Scheme (shares bought at -20% lowest cost in last 6 months).
- Flexible options like buying/selling holiday.
- Company Credit Card with entertainment sign-off being fairly lax, hopefully plenty of company paid outings etc.
- Not bad canteen.
Oh, fairy muff, was a little off.
Used to work down at Westferry Circus, certainly a nice view and place to be...... Especially with all the short skirted ladies in the hot weather

I worked at dominos for 5 years, and it was usually worth doing the maths to see whether staff 'discount' was better or worse than using the current voucher codes.
50% discount was also only for pizzas and garlic bread.
Sides, drinks, etc were all full price. (there was usually a voucher which gave 50% over a certain amount without any exclusions!)
in my current job, we get
- free tea/coffee (including fresh ground machines, but I don't drink coffee, and can't be bothered to walk to the other block for a hot chocolate very often....)
- yearly bonus (around 5% for my paygrade)
- 2 parties a year (summer/xmas) including food and plenty of booze
- occasional ad hoc perks (a few free drinks every time someone high up leaves, and due to a project I worked on, I got VIP box treatment at a bath rugby game
), the odd bit of free kit (I'M in IT)when I do eventually move on, dental plan is high on my hitlist! some months I've spent as much as 25% of my post-tax income on a single dental procedure
