There is a genuine reason for that , I cant be arsed :p

Seriously though I dont watch enough foreign football to be able to make a reasoned argument on a lot of European players

I definitely rate Shearer as world class,

If you look at his entire career he has consisitently been knocking goals in, and has adapted his game very well do deal with losing pace etc.

As a target man for the defence/midfield he does very well, as it takes the pressure of the midfield etc if he can hold the ball up front for a bit, plus he's a fantastic defender as well :-)

Heres my world class players, currently playing in the top four

This is where everybody differs I guess.

I would rate perhaps three or four of these players as world class. I rate world class as really being world class, not as just being very good.

For example, Owen is not even close to being world class in my opinion - sure he's fast, and he scores 15+ goals a season in the Premiership, but is he really world class? Would you seriously put him in a World XI, ahead of players such as Raul, Ronaldo etc.? :)

I'll tell you who will be world class and who is really someone to watch in the next few months - Philippe Mexès, he's really exceptional and is only 21.

Yeah, Owen is class, but I wouldn't call him world class - he wouldn't get near a World XI ahead of players such as Ronaldo, Raul, Shevchenko, Henry, Akinbiyi to name but a few. :)

if Liverpool had tht many "world class" players then wed b awesome week in week out !

......................................................................................................

Solano ~ NOT WORLD CLASS
Given ~ very very good (but NOT WORLD CLASS)
Gilberto ~ not quite WORLD CLASS imo (althou hes gettin better each week)
Keane ~ NOT WORLD CLASS
Ferdinand ~ NOT WORLD CLASS
Owen ~ NOT WORLD CLASS
Dudek ~ definatly NOT WORLD CLASS
Beckham ~ good but not WORLD CLASS week in week out

ther r too many NON-WORLD CLASS PLAYERS in his list tbh

Him and boumsong are a damn good partnership at the back.

Liverpool:

dudek- No
Hyypia- NO
Hechoz- No, never has, or ever will be world class, even if taken away and given a 6 billion dolar man style refit.
Owen- If given good service, his lack of height and his slight build acts against him, is very good despite this.
Gerrard- Nope, average player, blows very hot or cold.
not sure about hamann- Nothing to be uncertain about, he sits in fron t of the back four, has shown no signs of being anything other than a competant if unexciting defensive midfield player.

Man utd:
Bathez- Clown
Ferdinand- Doesnt concentrate, needs to concentrate more onthe simple aspects of defending rather than being flash.
Scholes- Nope, to inconsistant, if the rest of the team are playing well he shines, he isnt a player that can inspire a team out of the doldrums, when he is off form he is terrible.
Giggs- one of the best players ever.
beckham- Average to good, sometimes puts in a "great" performance, but these a very rare.
keane- 3 years ago he was the best there was, now his legs have gone.
van Nistelrooy, one of the best strikers in the world, not a footballing forward, but enough ability to get by on, never lets you down, a fantastic target man.

Arsenal:
seaman- Nope good when he was younger, but never the best in the world.
Llungberg- i can think of better wingers, perhaps he doesnt get played in his best position.
Pires- very good midfileder.
Henry- the other best striker in the world
Gilberto- Hopeless in europe, has shown nothing in the prem to show he is better than the glut of other "average" midfielders in the prem.
Veira- Best midfielder in the world.
wiltord- Garbage.

Newcastle:
Given- Sits quite comfortably in the list of "competant" goalies.
Shearer- Not now, was good always been spoilt by his dirty play.
Solano- Average to below average utility player that flatters to decieve, hits the odd hit and hope screamer does not a lot else.
Dyer- see Henchoz substitute defender for midfielder.

There are very few world class players in the prem i can get it down to-

Owen
Van Nistelrooy.
Henry.
Viera.
Giggs.
Sol Campbell.
Solskajear (think about it ;) )

those are the players i can find that EVERYBODY would want in their team,
