I think thats worse then the England result for Italy, NZ are ranked 78th.
England were suppose to be good, anyone that has seen Italy play in the last few years know that they are rubbish.
Can't that bad, after all they hold the WC.
Yet they should still clean up New Zealand. They have bank workers and unattached players, come on !

exactly, England played really well in the qualifiers and looked like they had a chance, Italy has been rubbish, i don't even think they've won a game this year!

The Italians used simulation heavily and the ref was a moron. Shouted at the tv when Ryan Nelson was booked for time wasting. Disgusting decision. Very happy for NZ, they played against 12.
Pretty much what i was going to say...Italy just looked clueless as they couldnt break down the NZ defence...shocking result for them and their next game against Slovakia needs to be a win and might depend on how many goals they get lol.
Well done to NZ though, a moral victory for them i suppose...good defense though from them even though i hate defensive football at the best of times.
Saying that i wouldnt be surprised if the Italian made it all the way through to the finals...they are known to be slow starters in the WC.
So England and Italy are both really in the same positions ie need to win their last games to get through to the last 16.

Yup, no professional league in New Zealand. Wellington Phoenix have to travel to Australia to play in their A-League \o/

But France are still leading by a short head.
I know Italy start slowly to world cups but that was poor. They just didn't have an answer for the NZ defence. Even if the NZ goal had been disallowed for being off side and Italy had won by that penalty, it would still have been a poor result. If they'd played like that against a decent team they've have lost.
Both England and Italy need to treat the next game like it's the knock out stages now. If they play like they've been doing they're both finished for this world cup.

I dont think England or Italy can be compared to just how utterly clueless/rubbish the French are at the moment...i think by far they have to be the worst team in the WC so far.

France are so much better than us. If we'd had the group they had both the Uruguayans and the Mexicans would have been all over us.
