Brazils defence has been simply immense today...closing down Chile more or less...ive never seen anything like it from any Brazilian side ever.

Brazil really don't have a obvious weakness, great defence, midfielders and strikers and one of the best keepers in the world! Simply amazing.

FT 3-0

Robinho man of the match..personally i think Marcel Bastos has been by far the best player tonight.

Awesome Brazil just simply awesome:D:D...cha ching £££'s lol.

Kudos to Chile though, they did well enough but lacked the class that Brazil had over them...they did take the game to Brazil which i enjoyed.

So Spawn, what's that you're up to now profit wise? :p

Well my balance is now sitting at a lovely £1100 pounds from an initial outlay of £100 last monday....so £1k up..not a bad week of betting:p....mind you id be close to £1500 if Paraguay and Italy hadnt screwed me last week in the final group games:p

But thats me done for the WC betting....i might just put a £100 on Spain to win...current odds of 2.1 on betfair isnt too bad but ill wait and see how that game plays out.

Good haul. :)

And there was me thinking you'd wasted it all with a couple of dodgy bets. :p

how many times have you said that lol:p

Oof, who knew that Gilberto had a few years left in him. Turns out Wenger let him go a bit early and especially considering out DM problems of recent times.

I was thinking that last night too. Thing is, he left because Flamini came through, and I don't think we'd have been complaining had we kept the latter.

Brazil looked ominously good last night, who was that attacking player they had though, the one that scored the third, and got man of the match? Looked familiar to me, nice skills and all, but he was doing a lot of running about and tracking back, and even looking happy.

Spain v Portugal should be a cracker. can't wait :)

The balance in the Brazil team is spot on. They're like a slighlty more pleasing to the eye Mourinho side. Incredibly effective

LOL well i have to say ive been quite lucky this past week...especially the germany game which netted me £310 off a £100 bet and from there i just kicked on and have made a decent amount of money....currently contemplating on shoving £900 on Spain to win tonight....odds are very good on betfair..2.1 to win for Spain....make an easy £1890 through that....could very well be on £3k by end of tonight....

Yep they definitely look the best so far...defensively they are very strong and even going forward...looks like Dunga has found the perfect balance with this Brazilian team....they arent as pretty or as flamboyant as past Brazilian sides but they look very dominant so far....cant see any side at the moment really troubling them but then it only takes one bad game from them to be knocked out.

Still Brazil 2010 WC Champs is what im going with...

Brasil were my tip from the off along with Argentina to do well.

Nothing I've seen from anyone else has changed this, although I have a feeling Germany might put up a fight against Argentina.

Brasil just look better then everyone else doing everything, they're not quite as good as the Brasil teams of old, playing with real flair and attacking power, but they're very good defensivly, work hard and are still lethal going forward.

Can't wait for Brasil 2014.

So what is it about Brazil that they're always so good? Is it something in their physical makeup, is it their training, their managers?

If all the same england players that just flew home had been sent to brazil at say, the age of 3, would they now be world beating?

I think it's the coaching, the culture, they're brought up on football and taught to play it the right way, the way they play football. (none of this lump it up front that has infected every level of English football).

England, compared to Spain, Germany, France, Italy, have nothing in the way of coaching.

I don't think you could narrow it down to any one thing however from what I understand they focus a lot more on the skill aspect than most UK training, the weather is generally more conducive to playing outdoors, football offers an escape from the favelas (slums) that isn't such a necessity in the UK as here even poverty isn't directly comparable. That's just a few reasons off the top of my head without thinking about it greatly so may be wrong.

Entirely different football culture which isn't based on getting stuck in and being aggressive, they concentrate on players who are good with a football which may sound utterly bizarre, but it works ..
