Poverty is a Massive factor in producing football talent. That sounds ridiculously callous and I'm slightly ashamed to say it...
But if you come from a rough Favela in the poorest part of a huge Brazilian city, then football is one of the only things you have to do for entertainment as a kid, then later as a young adult, one of the few ways of breaking yourself out of poverty.

I think this is one of the reasons Africa is also such a hotbed for talent at the moment.

There's nicer reasons too though:
*Their domestic game is all about attacking football
*Unlike Africa there is a bedrock of established clubs, qualified coaches and financial input available to develop the young talent from the deprived-backgrounds into world class players. (though of course kaka is ****ing all over my theory as he is rich and white)
*They play Futsal and beach soccer in a huge way over there, which helps hone ball skills.

Brazil looked ominously good last night, who was that attacking player they had though, the one that scored the third, and got man of the match? Looked familiar to me, nice skills and all, but he was doing a lot of running about and tracking back, and even looking happy.

Robinho got man of the match - you probably recognise him from Man City.

^^^Some amazing ball skills there...bit ronaldinho like as hes very much from the futsal type of football...saying that Brazil didnt even take him nor Pato which shows that Dunga has the right sort of players in his squad...no one really that flamboyant in the squad and its paying off with their dominant performances.

Paraguay v Japan teams:

Paraguay: 1-Justo Villar; 14-Paulo Da Silva, 3-Claudio Morel, 13-Enrique Vera, 6-Carlos Bonet, 20-Nestor Ortigoza, 21-Antolin Alcaraz, 10-Edgar Benitez, 16-Cristian Riveros, 9-Roque Santa Cruz, 19-Lucas Barrios.

Japan: 21-Eiji Kawashima; 2-Yuki Abe, 22-Yuji Nakazawa, 4-Tulio, 3-Yuichi Komano; 5-Yuto Nagatomo, 16-Yo****o Okubo, 7-Yasuhito Endo, 17-Makoto Hasebe, 8-Daisuke Matsui, 18-Keisuke Honda.

Referee: Frank De Bleeckere (Belgium).

You can't do such skills in football. Put anyone of those guys into a top side and I bet they'd fail.
