World Cup Group E (Czech Rep, Ghana, Italy, USA) **SPOILERS**

Well that was entertaining for all the wrong reasons :D. Can't really fault any of the sendings off though.

Is it just me or is Toni completely useless? He was bloody awful today and one of the worst divers of the tournament.

Aye , he was poor today but from what Ive seen of him he looks excellent.
When stuck upfront on your own its sometimes difficult to impress , more so in a game like tonight's.
I thought he played well V Ghana.

Have aged 5 years tonight! ITV commentators and **** all knowledgeable pundits just wound me up even more.

"an excuse to level the game" what the **** was McCoist talking about, the **** face ****. And as for that ****** Pleat mother******, who has no idea what he was on about throughout the game really got on my ****. Right at the start of the game he talks about how the whole Italian Squad play in their home country and the other countries don't. What the **** has that got anything to do with it! If anything that just says what quality Italy can breed on their soil, unlike the rest of the world, something to be proud of not looked down on.

Well to the game, very gutsy performance from the Yanks. After Pope got sent off it seemed Italy would go up a gear but that was slow coming, they did make most of the pressure and it could have easily been won by Italy. Zambrotta had an outstanding game i feel, was up the pitch all the time, not sure what McCoist was on about.

This throws the whole group Wide open. This is how I hope it plays out.

Italy - Czechs 1-1
Ghana - USA 0-1

or

Worst case:

Italy - Czechs 0-1
Ghana - USA 1-1

That would mean Czechs will go through with the Italians on GD. I just want the Italians to get that point though, and could do the Czechs a favour. Obviously Italy will be playing for the win but I want to see the Czechs through too :(

I'd say Czech Republic and Italy to qualify from this group. I think the USA will show their stinky form and the Italians will finally show some World Cup promise. However, losing Gattuso will be a blow.

The next games in this group will be crucial to all of the teams. Goal difference could make the difference. The group is still open now. After Czech's first game, I thought they could beat Ghana easily but I was wrong. Ghana showed what's quality they have today.

i think your getting wound up for no reason, for most of the games both channels have mentioned where the players play just for fact really. like all of ivory coasts dont play in the same country, i think it was.

also what mcoist meant was that refs can be under immense pressure after sending a man off and can kinda feel like they need to level it back out. he did say it was a deserved red card.

if only the real nedved had the same fire in his belly :p

Yes they have but Pleat was mentioning it for the fact that Italians rarely play outside of home thinking that it is actually a bad thing and implying that because other countries don't they should do too! May be I was reading too much into it but he is a ****head anyway.

Just got back in from watching the match in one of New Yorks biggest sports bars, very entertaining :D

Mucho jeering at the reds cards and the place went ******* mental when the USA scored then had the goal disallowed while everyone was still busying Hi-5ing :D

1-1 was probably a fair result after the drama in the game.

Not a bad result just a shame that you didnt win!

Ive said this for ages but I honestly believe america will win the WC before england do again or an arfican nation. Thet still haven't got to the stage where they start benefitting from all the players coming through from the academies set up after USA 94. They are starting to have good things happen with more and more kids taking up 'soccer' with better coaching facilities for them and football scolarships.

I personaly think that having a player sent off for such a horrible challenge like that elbow, the whole team should be punished. This elbowing has to stop. It wont be long now until a player will be seriously injured or even killed during a game.

If a player gets an elbow in the side of the head, for instance the temple, if it is carried out with enough force it could kill the player.
I would like FIFA to consider banning teams who have players that elbow others on purpose.
The incident last night was so obviously intentional. I do realise that there are occasions that when two players jump for the same ball and one does get the elbow out but that can be argued. Using the arms for lift etc and not on purpose. These type of incidents are easily seperated from ones that are carried out intentionaly.

This is where visual replays are needed for the referees, even if its just for the official on the side line. He could easily have a quick view of the elbow and then decide if it is intentional or not and then tell the ref on the pitch the outcome. Even you or I can tell the difference so it shouldnt be hard for FIFA to implement it sooner rather than later before anything nasty happens.

Mr D Pleat doesnt even know his arse from his own elbow. Just thought ill add that, he really got on my nerves lats night.
