World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

If you place the back of the msa 20 on the back of the AW, how does it look? Does it look like it will fit or is it basically sitting there unable to actually slot in? (that is how it looks in my mind visualising the photos in a 3D space in my head). If the latter then yes, it is not the correct arm for the AW sadly. Personally I would buy just a normal VESA standards compliant arm (there are hundreds to choose from in every budget).

Edit*
I just googled the price of that arm and wow, over £100!! - That's Ergotron money. I would definitely get a refund on it and get a proper VESA 100x100 arm from Ergotron then.

Edit 2*
On the Dell page for that arm it says it has a VESA 100x100 interface, are you sure there's nothing extra in its box that allows you to fit the VESA 100x100 mounting bracket that comes with the AW onto it?

Notice bottom left, it says packaging contains a VESA mounting plate. If you fish that out you will be able to use the AW VESA bracket on that.

So I just put the vesa mount on top of the bracket that slots into the Aw3423dw. Then I try hooking the vesa mount over the arm, as I could do that with the mount not connected to the bracket, but it doesn't hook over. Almost dropped the monitor a few times as well haha. I'll post a few pics tomorrow.. Thank you so much for your help really appreciated.

I paid £65 from ebay brand new which I thought was alright but yeah would much prefer your one that's just plug and play!

Knew it... 4k snob....... ;) :p :D

Make sure to adjust clear type.

Settings, same as Vincent's video above:

Creator
Srgb
Gamma 2.4

Contrast 75%
Brightness 47 iirc although just set that to whatever you prefer
Hahaha. I say it as I see it man. If I could have this monitor but 4K 27” I would love that, would not mind 5120x2160 either, but that would be even harder to drive.

I tried those settings but 47% is too low for me on brightness. Need more like 60% :p

Will see though, this is based off a few minutes.

You can always up the brightness in the OSD. I guess you are in a really bright room? Although saying that I had the blinds part open today with the sun shining in and in the first video I posted the same brightness was perfect to my eyes whereby whites appear like paper white which is exactly as it typically should be for good eye health and reducing fatigue!

Although yeah brightness is preference. Just pointing out that once you use it for a bit, you will adapt and you'll think how you ever did without it (I used to have a bright screen before I learned and got into ideal calibrated settings etc).

Not in a bright room at all. I just don’t particularly like the dull look. I know what you mean about getting used to it, have actually been back and forth in the past, I just generally think higher brightness (within reason) helps imagine quality.

80cd/m2 is not for me. My eyes have got used to 160-180cd/m2. That is what I used to target when calibrating.

Ah glad to hear no major dramas m8. :D

I did end up contacting Dell to see when I would get mine (still marked as 6th of April). Ended up with another 10% off (had 15% off from the Dell Advantage coupon + 8% Top cashback) . As long as the monitor arrives without damage and works as it's suppose too I'll be happy.

Yeah, was worried the but box was generally in good condition and the monitor inside seems fine also. Though I did not look at it with a microscope like some, so maybe missed something.

I have 8% top cashback also which tracked. If that gets paid the monitor will work out around £735 :D

Looking at that MSA20 further, it is actually very impressive for £165 even. Has features I've not seen in any other arm before. If I ever changed arms then I'd get that for sure, makes install and adjustments much easier:

For your install though, check out this video:

At the 1 min 30 mark when all the parts are laid out on the table, notice on the left side is a black plate? That is the VESA 100x100 plate you attach to the MSA20 after you screw in the AW's VESA bracket onto it (screws included in the AW box in a small packet). You then attach the joined duo onto the back of the AW making sure to push it in until it clicks, then attache the AW onto the MSA 20 via its tabs.

Don't know how people can use more than 120 nits tbh :p

Aside from text and general windows stuff, how you finding the clarity/sharpness in games though?

The screens amazing (for gaming), finger print magnet hell
But is anyone else's out off level?. My desk is level but the top of my screen ain't.
I have to raise the left had foot by about 1/4 inch to relevel (Kirby and forgotten land switch case is currently doing the heavy lifting). I assume the stand is just out of true, unless I've missed something when putting it together?

IIRC it has about 5 degrees rotation on the stand, so you can probably adjust it.

Requested my 5% off due it being late..

Dell also took the payment :(

At least yours has come! Mine hasn't even hit the production stage yet and I think I ordered before you :(

thanks, there does not feel like there is any rotation adjustment, but maybe the mount plate allows for it (but I will have to take the stand off to see). It would after all seem sensible to have some a little adjustment.
