World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

Only thing I "may" switch to is a 38" 1600p qd-oled one, refresh rate wise, couldn't care less, hard enough getting even close to 144hz with flagship gpus in new/rt games as it is. Not in any rush though especially if price for that ends up being close to or above 2k.

I would not bother with that myself, size seems fine to me. The main issue is the resolution. I want higher PPI. I would be very tempted to get a 32” one that is 4K. But even that I probably won’t bother for at least 2 years. Once I am in the last year of warranty can upgrade then :D

Yeah it is very unlikely I will bother tbf, sooner upgrade the lg oled 55" to something newer and 65" first. Just the curve on this makes 34" feel/look noticeably smaller than my flat 34".

Same here, so far the delivery date has gone from 24/03 > 22/04 > 05/05 > 03/06.

At this point I’m not convinced it’s ever going to show up tbh

Mine is the exact same situation. If I didn't have a workmate lined up to buy it off me at RRP when it eventually arrives on the off-chance it's not for me, I would likely cancel my order at this point. His order isn't due until August and I'm starting to think they'll turn up together at the same time even though he ordered 3 weeks later.

Anyone notice that at far angles when you move about from about 4 foot away to create the reflection "split", that you can see the very fine texture of the AR coating/film? It's not noticed in normal head-on use but from extreme angles as you move about with a strong reflection like a window, you can see the detail that makes up the front layer. I wonder once these get into gen 2/3 if the coating will further improve and become even clearer resulting in even greater colour/text accuracy out of the box.

I'm confident this is an artefact of the panel being curved, if it was flat the effect would not exist. There isn't any other monitor with a glossy AR coating that can be checked for something similar either so for now we are stuck :p

Has anyone had one that wasn't in that first batch of deliveries? Curious if any are going out

Yes, mine was supposed to be, but was actually shipped on 15th April and delivered on 21st.

My original dates were 22nd March shipping, 24th delivery, first revised to 22nd April delivery and then revised to 5th May.

Coming from a 38", after the first day or 2, I no longer notice the reduction in size except in the rare occasions where I need to have multiple 1080p RDP windows open.

I do however notice the increase in game performance due to the reduced resolution, so can't really complain :)

That’s what she said? :p

I am lucky as I had a 27” monitor so vertical was identical and I gained from the sides. Also came down from 4K so huge boost to fps. Been playing Resident Evil Village lately and boy HDR makes a night and day difference to image quality.

Mine shipped out on the 9th of April despite getting a delay notice for the start of May. I think there was another batch a few days after that which went out in Europe but past that I've not seen any more ship out.

On the ultrawide reddit there was lots of Americans complaining their orders all got delayed again to the end of may/june. So I'm not sure if any region of dell is currently sending them out.

Sounds like there's a trickle then, would be fascinating to see the actual numbers, suspect they launched earlier than they should have to get the first to market press but didn't have the stock to back it up, combined with Chinese New Year, lockdowns etc. meaning they hardly have any coming through

I remember people saying there won't be a shortage on this monitor as "you don't mine on displays" etc. before it was released. Hindsight is 20-20 I suppose.
