World of Warcraft: Classic

There was someone on a stream last night (streamer inspected them) who had all BiS items from MC/Ony ...

Everyone was like “omg, how lucky!!”

Now I’m thinking otherwise

Was about to say the same thing.. how are they layered?

Beats me, I was always under the belief that the instances were on seperate servers to the "main" gameworld but maybe not. Makes no sense to layer dungeons though, there is just no need as far as I can see. If it is an oversight by Blizzard then its proved to be a pretty major oversight with some hefty consequences.

There were some numbers on Wowhead which shows noggenfogger is 60:40 in favour of horde. Not looking forward to STV. Semi tempted by the free realm transfer. Ashbringer is 50:50 but I don't know what the overall op numbers are like.

Well, they are layered with a maximum population of 10, always were. What’s different is that Blizz introduced layer hopping as a means of dealing with open world layers and grouping with friends and then never thought about restricting it to only the world layers it seems.

It's been happening for weeks by a lot of people, some not even aware of doing it within the raid/party.

Rollback would be a big call, but what choice do they have.

Blizzard have said that they plan to take punitive measures against the exploiters, not roll back the game. They can ban the people responsible and delete their auctions; that will take most of the cash and mats out of the economy. What remains will essentially kickstart it to a higher level so the server economy as a whole will grow a little ahead of schedule.

This is one of those times where back in the day we would post "working as intended" :D
Except No.

People asked for classic for years, for the levelling, for the experience, for the exploration , for the community.
Its now coming out (on reddit) that guilds have been exploiting this for weeks after rushing to 60 (using the xp exploit) and while they may not all be running around in 100% BiS they have banks full of BoEs. Lots of easy gold and the AH is full of cheap rare patterns, that have been purchased and learnt by others.

"Rushed through and farmed bosses for easy epics". Thats literally the definition of retail and 100% the opposite of what classic was about. no one is supposed to be able to kill the end boss of ubrs 10 times an hour.

I sort of meant as in the original working as intended joke from way back when, where everytime there was a glitch or a bug, the meme on the blizzard forums was to sarcastically post "working as intended" , rather than that it is actually working as intended.
