World of Warcraft: Classic

Man the grind is real with this. On one hand I like it and on the other I'm wondering what I'm doing with my life.

It's almost like I want a half way between retail and this. I enjoy exploring areas where in retail you leveled so fast you basically skipped entire sections but the constant mob grinding is a pretty poor experience.(especially as a warrior pre40)

I can definitely see why classic is so revered, back in the day this must have been absolutely awesome. I just think the responsibilities of a 30+ Male dont necessarily align with how this game wants you to play.

It's what made the game so much more rewarding and awesome back in the day. These days people just want everything, right now, without any work. It's just how life is nowadays.

I can relate to the 30+ comment. For me, I just haven't got the time, or drive to replay old content (as good as it was/is) that I completed back in 2005/6, or try relive what I did years ago at a younger age. Good thing really, as I have better things to be doing.

For new players to the game with a lot of time on their hands, it's fantastic to be in that situation, as it's all new.

I worked around that by playing through as Horde this time around having only ever played Alliance previously, its helped and id recommend it.

I'm getting sick of the whole "SPELLCLEAVE" meta that's infected the dungeons (first SM, now ZF). Finding a dungeon group as a DPS was hard enough without this new AOE obsession making it even harder if you don't happen to be playing a Mage. I just want to enjoy the dungeon experience and complete some quests.

I'm with you with this, however as a healing priest, I can't deny groups are significantly easier with a mage and warrior tanking instead of the alternatives. No free water available is only one thing of many imbalances!

What you want is WOTLK-era WOW. All the streamlining of levelling sorted out, still with the varied talent trees, and access to all content (if not all loot) in 10-man raids.

Aye as much as wow is the best game I have ever played. I just do not have the time to put into it anymore and have consciously stopped playing as I have a real life now. I know I would never be happy without being in the top 5%. I am content with a couple of hours of FPS now and again or some AAA single player title to waft through.

I'm at level 25. Plodding away. Enjoying leveling as Horde as I've only ever played Alliance. It's been fantastic so far. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why I was missing defensive stance until I realised I have to do a quest to learn it, fantastic. I'm going to have to go on an adventure to learn expert levels in my secondary skills. And so far I've only explored a fraction of the world in coming up to 2 days play time. It's as good as I remember it. The world feels MASSIVE. Like it should. I'm happy just to dip in for a couple of hours here and there.

Mages and free refills...

Hunters are literally firing gold, can't do any ranged attacks with out ammo. The highest realistic tier of ammo to fire is player crafted and on my server, 60-90 copper a shot or 19-28 gold to fill a quiver of 3200 ammo. Use maybe 3-5 gold to do a dungeon.

There are unrealistic ammo above that but they are RNG instance drops so forget it...

It was dull even back in the day. The community made it fun but that is practicaly non-existent now.

When AV comes out it becomes a lot easier but yeah farming thorium for shells wasn't fun.

You only use that ammo on boss fights, unless you are rich.

Locked chests in PUG.

I played rogue in vanilla up to TBC. Always opened chests if someone else rolled higher. Don't ever recall a rogue claiming a chest for himself when I played my hunter either back then but it was a long time ago.

Just all rolled for a chest and I won. Rogue refused to open for me and said if nobody else has lock picking I'm claiming for myself.

Thought this was a bit of a **** move as he proceeded to claim every other chest in the instance - what's others opinion?

I kick him from the group, set the rules up front.

Well I did ninja his blue dagger on the last boss out of principle and apparently it will be posted on the server forums for people to see, not that I care but so glad I won the roll. Everytime he took a chest it just annoyed me more. People can argue he has to raise it so is like a profession but it come with the class. I raised mine but wouldn't expect to just go into a dungeon and ninja every chest because I'm the only person with the skill and selfish.

Rogue can raise skill by unlocking then the group can roll on opening it.

He's just a massive piece of ****

Heh. I see a warlock spamming for 1 dps for SM so I join. I am in Dustwallow marsh at the border with barens. The group is full and the other warrior is in menithil harbour at the inn (not on a birdie). I HS to IF. Fly to southshore. He is now in IF (futher away). I run to SM with another one of the grp.
Lock is sat a summoning stone. We summon the guy from IF. He jumps out of the portal, leaves the grp and starts spamming SM-local for multiple mages for an aoe cleave grp.

I have also seen rogues refuse to open chests and then just run back and take the items in a few pulls.

There are a lot more *** holes around than there were first time around.
