World of Warcraft: Classic

Is anybody jumping back in for SoD ? I've drifted back to WoW recently (again) so I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays .

I'll definitely roll a frost mage as my main for the pvp but thinking maybe a warlock tank as an alt.

I won't be able to get on tonight unfortunately. Looking forward to getting stuck in tomorrow though.

Edit: thought I'd quickly log on, create a character and grab my name. Doesn't look like that's happening, ha!

Its a lot busier than I expected. Starter zones are rammed with people which makes questing a lot harder as you're all fighting for the same mobs. Managed to get to level 8 and unlocked 2 runes so that will do for now.

Best get some work done now :D

Still takes forever. SOD is capped at like level 25 or something though right?

25 for a few weeks yeah, then increases to 40 then 50 then 60 etc.

I would say it's possibly a bit quicker in terms of not quite as much downtime for some classes with some of the new runes, although I don't know if they've buffed some of the mobs as they hurt, especially with some of the hyperspawns.

Quite enjoying the seasonal take so far, an easy way for them to try things.

I 'dipped my toe' back into Wow last night for first time since half way through Warlords of Draenor. Can't remember what level I was, but I'm now back to lvl 40 (Horde Shaman)

I just paid a month sub to see what it's like on classic, I did a lengthy quest. But my question is, am I missing out on a load of content not starting from lvl 1 SoD? Do I leave Dragonflight alone for time being?

Advice please

I mean it's still pretty much the Classic leveling experience, just with a few extra bells and whistles. Depends if that appeals to you. I'm enjoying it so far, playing on the Lone Wolf server if anyone wants to group up.

Haven’t played in years, something about SoD seems to be pulling me back!

I re-rolled Hunter. I was Field Marshall/Nax raiding back in the day and it is refreshing playing again. Especially with the new abilities.

Servers are pretty hectic at the moment but off peak is still quite good. managed to tame The Rake which was quite lucky. Broken Tooth was always a pain if I ever make it that far!

Is the levelling still the same or is it quicker now?

IIRC it was 5-6 days to get to level 60 back in the day. Time I simply do not have anymore :p

I only managed level 30 when classic first came out before the missus started to get angry :p.

As a former EQ player, it always makes me smile to hear people saying how long it took to level in WoW :p
Don't take that the wrong way, btw. But damn, we spent years getting to level 60 :p

No offence taken, i completely understand. For me I've done leveling for years and years and it's just really boring now, it was fun the first couple of times, the journey of discovery was cool. Issue i find is most mmos the levelling is super boring and just a timegate to get in the way of what i want to do (pvp). I really liked how you could just level by doing pvp in Warhammer online and wish more games would be like that, but then i guess no one would do the boring quests to level..
