So um, despite not playing at the moment I still saw the news from Blizzcon.
Season of Discovery - this seems to be a "halfway house" between classic and classic+, looks like you level to 25 initially and then it's off to Blackfathom Deeps raid? Also lots of class revamps, they're talking about warlock tanks and mage healers. Will keep an eye on this one.
Cataclysm Classic - Don't understand this one at all. Cataclysm can never be "classic" as it's just retail servers at this point with some expansions disabled. Without being too pessimistic I expect a big drop in numbers playing it.
Especially as Catavlysm classic comes out about the same time as War Within. So will people play the brand new saga or some old crap I think I know
Classic+ sounds bit weird but it's seasonal content, they're bringing Diablo style seasons to WoW. That allows them to do funky junk without breaking the game because after 3 months they reset it or whatever. The first season has a level cap of 25 and following seasons will have different caps. I like this idea as it forces all players into a specific set of content such as low level dungeons and PvP battlegrounds. Plus WoW has always felt more fun at lowered levels. The fact that they are turning existing dungeons into raids with new loot sounds interesting
I wonder if it players will have to level a new character for every season, if so hopefully they buff XP massively
