World of Warcraft: Classic

Why not have three to begin with? You put the capacity up high they said they can go higher than current and when all the retail people leave you lower the capacity.

What monkey brains would open more because you surely run into the dreaded game ruining scenario of my realm is great on day 1!!! Day 60 sheesh my realm population seems like it halved. Day 120 my realm is dead and my character is trapped, I am sad.

Well goodluck to those people, Because a reroll will not be amusing. Me i plan to stick to Shazzrah and roll another opposite on maybe Golemag. No way i am going Firemaw.

Because it's significantly easier to scale upwards than downwards.

Aye, hopefully dampen things down slightly in release Tuesday evening might be busy though.

I'm going to try and login Tuesday evening but I'd say it's unlikely (even though I'm going to load up at 22:55 waiting for the "Enter World" button to go green). I would say queues will be up to 3-4 hours on Shazz, maybe 1-2 hours on other realms for 2 weeks to a month. I think Shazz will have queues for longer than that but they will come down.

I obviously have no proof of this just the feeling I get from blue posts and other forum users.

What's the time out before you get logged off for inactivity?

I’m not expecting much in the way of queues actually other than Ghenass and Shazz which presumably will be busier than the number of layers that Blizz will be happy to create, so they’ll just leave everyone else in a queue. The other realms should layer out the queues initially.

15 minutes.
  • You are marked AFK automatically after 5 minutes without any interaction.
  • You'll be logged off and sent to the character selection screen if you are AFK for 30 minutes.
  • You'll be disconnected from the server if you remain at the character selection screen for 30 minutes.

So essentially 30 mins to get back to my computer if I just queue and enter the world. May need to install team viewer.

Blizz stated yesterday that, the amount of people trying to log into Shazz may exceed the amount of spaces they have in the queuing system.

My guild from Nostalrius / Anathema / Lightbringer has rolled on Shazz and they will not budge no matter how many blue posts are made by Blizz.

I had planned on taking a week off work at launch but I've scrapped that idea now, I don't expect to have a decent playing experience for months because of this escapade

It will end up being like when BC launched and they introduced the new queing system. The servers couldnt cope and people ended up sat queing for hours or just getting kicked out of the queues with random error messages. In the end blizz approached specific guilds and offered them free realm transfers.

I had a surreal experience on the bus this morning.
2 chaps just chatting **** about life and then one expressed dismay when the other anounced that he had a week off for wow classic.
With that someone else turned around, waved and announced they had a few days off as well.
After that a large chunk of the chuffing top floor were seemingly wow players.
I don't think blizz have really accepted how many people will be attempting to play and its not going to be an enjoyable first few weeks for any of them.

The servers should have been announced much sooner. There should have been more of them and they should have had a system in place to funnel groups of people onto servers.

It's going to be a **** show, obviously.

Easiest option, open lots of realms for the initial rush, then merge or transfer later down the line. If they had double or even triple would it have effected anyone? I doubt it.

I'm fine about the whole waiting in a queue, so long as the servers are stable, that was the worst feeling, you queued for 4 hours, got 25 minutes play time and then the servers went down.
