World War Z

I saw the trailer this evening when I saw Man of Steel, it was odd. It looked fine and everything, but it was never made clear that the people running around were zombies + you never saw closeups of them. If I was not aware of the whole "Z" thing already I would not have known it was a zombie movie :l

the cgi looks dodgy - i don't know why you can't do realistic humanoid movement in this day and age, but apparently you can't if this and the hobbit are believed.

I was initially excited about this but having seen the trailers and early reactions I'm not going to bother with it now.

We were going to go and see it this weekend - but we booked for Despicable Me 2 instead.
But we'll go next week and see what the fuss is about.

As yet another "fast" Zombie film, it's not bad. But it has hardly anything to do with the book, so forget about making the comparison.
Just enjoy it for what it is - people running away from lots of fast moving undead people in different set pieces.

I enjoyed the film, probably give it 7/10. As a zombie film I would say it is closer to "Contagion" than "Resident Evil".

Haven't read the book, so no idea what is the same and what is different.

With regards to the zombies, I have seen films where they move at all different speeds, and don't think it makes a difference to how good the film would be. The running zombies just mean the main characters are not constantly in hopes of outrunning, but rather fighting and at times being beaten.

My biggest problem is the score. They have got Matt Bellemy and Muse to help out, so they have used "Isolated System" from 2nd Law as the catch tune (like Darth Vader's Imperial March), but it just seems out of place to have this song appear whenever the mood gets "moody".

It's the best Resident Evil film yet ( 4/10 imo) just don't go expecting anything at all to do with the World War Z, or a typical zombie film, couldn't help myself from mentally drawing comparisons, and I got up to a grand total of 2 things (both of them minor) that are carried over, it's a pity how bad this POS turned out, the last 2 minutes show the briefest glimpses of the film it should have been.

Poor, even for a zombie film and it felt rushed!

How did a 4 prop airplane take off or even land for that matter on a aircraft carrier!!?!?!!?!

I watched this last night and found it very watchable.

I haven't read the book. I've read that this is meant to be a sidestory to events in the book.

I did wonder
at what point Gerry's satellite phone got its battery recharged, but I guess it isn't unrealistic to just assume the WHO scientists did it
.
I did find the sight of
masses of the undead piling up like ants to get at the living
impressive.
Although it just
tailed off without a satisfactory end, I guess so as not to conflict with the book...

I just got back from seeing this and whilst it's not the best zombie film ever, I didn't think it was too bad.

I agree with torN's spoiler and I did think when it happened it didn't look possible and it did seem to end abruptly.
