I think the west coast is going to avoid the flooding. I'm quite lucky in where I live. My town kinda slopes upwards the further from the sea you go. And I'm at the opposite side of town from the waterline, so for my house to be flooded, pretty much the entire town would need to be completely covered in water, like above the roofs.
Looks like my carpark is about to be completely flooded all the cars have been moved if the underground park floods then the ground floor(me) flats will all flood next.
I am a fellow bostonian myself. I went home from work on a half night. Couldn't believe my eyes when I got home or the amount of emergency traffic. Luckily for me I live on the outskirts and was bone dry but took a walk with the dog to the center and was a mess. Buses all at Asda taking people to the sports complex near us. My mother sold her house not far from that picture around a year ago to emigrate. Wonder what happened to it.
Were all good in grimsby until 8am when we expect a large tidal surge which may be worse than what we experienced tonight. I expect to be woken at 7am by the flood sirens going absolutely mental again
Four of the houses in hemsby were washed into the sea due to the sand bank eroding and three more are at serious risk of suffering the same fate tomorrow. video in article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-25254808
