WORLD WEATHER THREAD

Severe flood warnings where I live, just been told to evacuate..

Better get my rubber dinghy out

Doubtful for your area as the wind is blowing north, north west which puts north facing coasts at highest risk with high tide.

Hmmm saying that, are you on the east facing coast or more towards Southend?

Ok, so this lovely Mid-West weather continues:
Yesterday it was 70 degrees!
Tonight it will be 19 degrees!
7-11"s of snow predicted for tomorrow. .75-1" of frozen rain predicted for Sunday and then Tuesday will be bone cold at 8 degrees!!

My wife in Richmond VA is experiencing the same, 70* today, snow expected sunday.

Here in Oregon is really cold for the PNW, temps down to 10*F this morning, likely some date records being set.

We've had it pretty rough on the west coast today. We've had wind, rain, hail, even snow!

My cousin had a pretty bad experience on the way to work. He was getting a lift to his work, which goes along a coastal road, when they came across a downed tree blocking the whole road. They pulled over to the side of the road, but they spotted another car coming up behind them. Worried that the person driving might not see the tree in the dark my cousin got out and tried to flag the person down. But as he was wearing dark clothing, the driver didn't see him and ended up slamming right into the tree and the car got flipped up into the air almost vertically (or at least thats what my cousin said, might be overstating it a bit, dunno)

Bad times :(

High tide coming up here in the next hour and its broke the sea defences, Looking like bits of cleethorpes nd along the north wall industrial are getting abit wet this evening. Hope this river doesn't blow its banks

Flood sirens keep going off it seems were going to be hit by a large tidal surge this evening and much of Grimsby may well be flooded. My postcode has a flood warning due to how close to a river we live. May begin bringing stuff upstairs soon

My folks live in the marsh villages just north of the Humber and they are hoping that the drains don't flood. Some are looking quite high.

Flood warning map:

Spurn Point likely to get cut off again.

Windy and bloody cold today. Surprised we haven't lost some fence panels yet as they've looked ready to blow apart all day. Seems to be dying down a little now.

Hope everyone on the coast is doing ok.

I live about a minutes walk from the sea front, all the market place and front is shut down. The surge is suppose to be coming right about now.

Just seen on the news, didn't realise how much was going on :(

Guess will see what happens on the east Coast tonight, although looked at the video the guy was stood in the street next to the coast, the tide was out and it was already pushing up over the walls into the street, the tide has yet to come in

Aye fitties is now underwater. They was refusing to leave also.. Absolute idiots
Crazy, mad as a box of frogs...!

I live less than 10 minute walk from the Docks, near Maccies...

Just seen this on the Grimsby Telegraph site.

7.06pm: Relieved residents in the Suggitt’s Lane area are returning to their homes just after high tide. It appears the tidal surge will not go as far inland as feared.

Hopefully the Grimsby Town football ground wont get flooded now it's the next street lol, can't be doing with the FA Cup game being postponed on Saturday lol. :)

HULL is getting flooded near Victoria Dock, listening on Radio Humberside now...!
