Just an update from my earlier post. The Weather Service confirmed a tornado did touchdown about 5 miles from us. It was "only" an F1 and didn't hit any houses - just knocked over some trees and power lines. That's officially the closet I've been to one - previous best was 10 miles from an F3 in 2005

Southern Wisconsin. Not in Tornado Alley, so we don't get that many and the big ones are rare - last F5 here was 1996 I believe.

We had some really heavy rain showers yesterday. Even some hail at one point. Seems to have all cleared up today though. Dull sky, but dry.
