Worst car I've ever driven

The auto box lever had a button on the top marked "S". I'm guessing this is for "sport" mode. Hoever it should have been marked "L" for "louder" as that was the only noticable effect when it was pressed.

It actually means ****.

If it was a manual, it isn't worse.
Remember this weedy 1.4 is driving a torque converter and a heavy 3-speed auto box around.

Ooooh. That's bad.

The 1.0 was someat horrid like 45bhp - same as my '85 Nova with the 1.0 OHV relic in it. Most I ever saw out of the Corsa was 65mph so I'm guessing it was a typical shafted hire example. At least I got to give back after a couple of days.

yep these may well be the worst cars ever. A mate had a 1.5D one for a short while, truly, truly awful. I mean, there is cost-cutting, and then there is not even providing a cover for the glove box, wtf :/

I've got a 1.2 corsa, and it's fine  serves its purpose. Not an auto though, what is the point of an auto car?!

Anyone know what the power output was of the old fiesta's (957cc) and mini's (998cc)(cooper's 1275cc) from the 1980's ???

Mini was around 38bhp (I think? Rings a bell anyway) and the Fiesta 957 was 45 in most guises. But they were also extremely light.

The Cooper 'S' ceased production in 1971, but I know what you're getting at!
The 998 is quite rightly 38bhp, the 1275 engine stopped production in 1980 with the 1275GT, which had a factory figure of 59bhp. The 1275 'S' engines were slightly higher thanks to twin carbs and a higher flow cylinder h

Minis come with the following redeeming features: Charm, snappy throttle response, skateboard handling, smiles.
The Corsa has none of these. Even the manual version must be pants.

How anyone (even a 17 year old) can own one of these and claim it to be a decent car is utterly beyond me.

:p

My 106 came with great extras as standard; Digital clock, Rev counter, Colour coded instrument dials, Adjustable face level ventilation and Lidded glovebox. The drive of your life

Ive got a 1.2 corsa, its a 52 plate and I can assure you it takes nowhere near that long to get to 60.
Dont diss the corsa! :D

I bet they still sold a fair few of them, times and styles have changed chaps.

Ford released similar models, nearly every manufacturer did because theres quite a good market for them.
What I really love is when Ford owners take the pee out of Vauxhall owners...hardly a lot of difference between them

Yours comes with a more modern engine though - 73bhp / 12-13s to 60 depending on exact model (don't get too carried away though :D)

I think the main problem is the fact the OP one is auto.
