It looks more like you misunderstand the topic. If you find the game a disappointment etc. that's of course perfectly understandable, but to flat out call it the worst game of a year doesn't make sense to me. Topics like this are usually for the complete garbage like DayZ or Arkham Knight that just flat out have nothing going for them. Would you seriously sit there and say Witcher 3 had nothing going for it?

It's obvious this will be all about opinions. Some people here loved Arkham Knight, so you saying it has nothing going for it won't make sense to them either. See what I did there?
It might be the worst game out of the ones he played this year, it looks more like you misunderstood the topic
People calling MGS V or Fallout 4 "awful" also seem a bit ridiculous to me (though I've only played the latter for a couple of hours) but to each his own.
We can only judge games we played. This year I've played GTA V, MGSV, Dirt Rally, Witcher 3, Just Cause 3 and Arkham Knight. In my opinion, Witcher 3 turned out to be the most disappointing (besides AK). It would be stupid to say the worst game of the year was e.g. Black Ops III, simply because I haven't played it.
I get that, it's out of the ones people have played this year but when you weigh the flaws and positives together of a game to determine how good/bad it is, I'm not sure how Witcher 3 could ever come close to being somebodies WGOTY, unless they literally played 2 or 3 games the whole year with the other 2 being phenominal, but then what 2 phenominal games have come out this year?
Actually yeah, even reading my own post made me realise how opinion based this is, opinions do outweigh the facts in a discussion like this whether we like it or not.
), all of which it tries to cover with pretty decent dialogues and an abundance of side quests. As much as I initially enjoyed them, their charm wears thin rather quickly as you learn what to expect and the rewards are pretty much useless because Geralt is probably already OP. Exploration was initially fun, but the world looks samey and clunky movement animations, glitchy horse and not that good looking vegetation/water definitely don't help.
