Worst lager in England?

I cant stand this attitude of looking down your nose at lager drinkers. Stinks of snobbery.

So, I like Fosters. I suppose that makes me some of kind brainless, chavvy thug does it?

Lol @ your name :D.

No one is saying anything like that btw. The tread is for worst lagers and Fosters and Carling are coming out on top for good reason.

Which is your worst lager?

My worst lager is probably Carling. Just got a rank taste. Hate super strong lagers as well.

What lager do you like?

That Stella 4% on draught is quite nice. Carlsberg extra cold is a real refresher.

I'm 100% with you. Sure, I drink some pretty obscure stuff and often rave about a decent microbrewery that costs £8 a bottle. However, I'm more than happy to sit and drink a pint of Tennent's or grab a crate of it for the house.

Go out for a night out and stick to 80 IBU+ IPAs, and not only will you spend an absolute fortune but you'll quickly hate the beers.

There is nothing wrong with lager per se. I just hope that those who drink lager and nothing else open their eyes a bit and try something new and different. There's a wealth of beer out there, try some new stuff. If you don't like it, so be it! But at least try! And those who slate lager, accept that people have different tastes.

NB: If I wasn't so drunk, I'd be reaching for a can of Tennent's first before the numerous Stone/Sierra Nevada/Flying Dog/Belgian stuff that i have in my flat...

I like that Vratislav that i posted earlier on. It's a really cheap lager brewed for Tesco and gets a very low score of 15 on that rate my beer site :D. It tastes nice to me though.

Also like Budweiser, Pilsner Urquell, heineken, Cobra and Grolsch. There are more but I forget what they are.

I use to love Coors Light which I know a lot of people don't like. To me it just taste different to the usual Stella, Carling, Fosters which to me have always tasted rank.

I am a bit of a snob with the stuff I drink but everybody I know that I have got to try it now can't drink lager. It is a lot more expensive (£11 a pint once) but it taste good, I'm sorry but most lager just doesn't taste good to me.

I hear the joke a hell of a lot,
'why don't you drink?'
'I don't like the taste of it'
'yea well, nobody does'

I'd say I use to tolerate lager and convince myself that I liked it and had a favourite, but now I actually do like the taste of what I drink. And this is what I hear from everybody that tries it, 'wow, it actually does taste nice'

But if you like the taste of lager, it's not a bad thing. My bro still drinks lager, just means I spend less on him than he spends on me :D

Bud in the middle? Really?

Budweiser is pretty much the definition of middle of the road, it's bland and inoffensive but it's not terrible by any means. It's simply produced to appeal to as wide a range of people as possible so it's difficult to point to anything particularly good or bad about it.

I think my least favourite lager would have to be Carling of the ones I've had but even then I'll drink it if I'm at a house party and that's what's available. If we're expanding it slightly to include other beers then Blue Moon was terrible on the few occasions I've tried it although in fairness I'm not the biggest wiessbier fan anyway.

Friend showed me this, apparently found in the gents of Brew Dog, Nottingham :)

Sums up my opinion too;

I had a bottle of Blue Moon a few months back, was ok, nothing special. Had a bottle of Brooklyn Lager the same night as well, ohh dear, when I say a bottle, I mean only a few mouthfuls, the rest went down the sink, was ****ing vile. Just reading the wikipedia article about the Brooklyn Breweries now, and when one of the founders honed their brewing trade in such brewing powerhouses as Syria and Saudi Arabia though, I can see why the lager I was drinking tasted like liquid ****.

The worst you seem to find on tap over here... probably Carling.

Best... again over here... Staro / Urquell / Krombacher. (Go Pilsners, go!)
