Worst soap opera?

I don't know why but the question recently came into my mind, "which is the worst soap opera on TV?". I haven't watched any in a fair while but I remember that Emmerdale and Eastenders were particularly **** and insipid in every respect, with other programmes like Hollyoaks being too much of an abortion to even really consider as a valid TV programme in the scope of the question. I do recall that Coronation street at least had some degree of humour in it.

So what's everyone's opinion on TV's worst soap opera?

I don't watch soap operas these days but when I was a teenager I kept an eye on East Enders and, of the few times I have seen it these days ,nothing has changed...it is still very much centred around the lives of thick people whom, often times, have criminal tendencies.

It's an embarrassment and a poor example of culture.

Used to watch neighbours and H + A in the early 90s that's it though. Such kak.

I'd say Eastenders is actually ok compared to the rest.

Emmerdale is the most boring, Hollyoaks is the cheesiest, and Corrie is just annoying.

The worst one is River City - think of it as a lower budget Eastenders, set in Glasgow

They are all as crap as one another really. They all have the same recycled story lines every couple of months.

I remember watching this, actually was so bad it was watchable for the plastic acting, but yes the acting was terrible.

I/We never ever watch soaps in this house - I cringe if I can't hit mute button at start of eastenders if I have failed to turn TV off in time.

There is a soap opera called 'Government Babes'. I believe it's from Zimbabwe or something, when visiting my cousin we got home after a night out and stuck the TV on.

It's so awful it's actually decent to watch purely because of the hilarity of their acting!!
