This is only a thought, I've not even applied for the job yet... but..

I saw in a paper back home where I live today, a job description for a job that I'm at university studying for. The job back home said that experience wasn't required, as they'd train you up.

I was tempted to get my CV sorted and sent off to them, see what comes of it - but if I did get the offer - should I drop uni and forget my qualification?

I'm in my 2nd year.

nope definately not...

Work you have to do all your life, uni if your at the right age is an experience in a lifetime...

Perhaps your homesick I dunno, but don't rush into work...

Enjoy your uni days..

The job is a Crime Scene Investigator role for the Avon and Somerset Police, the role doesn't require any qualifications judging from the description, they train you themselves.

I've done Chemistry and Biology at college, and BTEC in Forensic Science.

I'm in my 2nd year at uni studying a BSc in Forensic and Crime Scene Science.

I agree enjoy your uni days. However it's worth sticking your CV in and if you get an interview see if you like it....

There's no set path, just do what you want, Uni if you do it right is so much fun and literally the best days of your life :(..
Working fulltime sucks..

Aloso look at your degree if you complete the 2nd year you might be able to qaulify for a HND and then simply go back for 1 year later to get a bsc.

How long is your course? If it's three years and you're in the second, then it would seem a bit daft to drop out now. With virtually any job, advancement is always benefited by qualifications.

3 year course. But if I can get my foot in the door now, in a job that has very few openings in the UK I think it would be wise. Who's to say when I've finished my degree it might not be the best anyway - I may not get a chance like this again.

But on the other hand, if the job didn't work out for me and I left - I'd be stuck with no qualifications...

:(

My daughter says no because she wants to apply for the job:D

Nooooooo...... how old is she lol? o well, as long as my application is in by Friday its all I can do.

High chance they'll say no, but I fancy getting put on their list - might increase my chances next time I apply.

Definitely do uni, hands down

its hilarious you've almost finished ** degree and want to quit for a job...

I'd only do it if was on the brink of getting kicked out for getting too low grades

you're an idiot if you drop out

Ask yourself. Go with whatever path feels right.

Once you have made a choice stick to it and try not to have any regrets about what could have been, had you taken the other path.

Only you can answer if it is worth leaving university for.

She won't apply, fear not ! but it is her dream job but she is too young and still at college.

Don't drop out.

What happens in 20 years time when you wish to become very senior in your field but cannot becuase you dont have the paperwork?

well thats helpful any reason why? Uni isnt for everyone its one of those things he could get the job and drop out work his way up and end up exactly where he wanted to be or he could finish uni not be able to find the job he wants and end up doing something he hates for the rest of his life
