I've never been that impressed with the 3 series boot. I'd probably have to go with a 5 series if I went BMW.
It's exactly the same size as the one in the Audi A4.
I am looking at buying an estate of a similar size to the A4
albeit the split opening on the tourer just seems like a waste of money/gimmick, especially if the lid were powered anyway
for what - what kind of shopping / activities do you do that you think small opening would help with ?Everyone I know who has had this has said that it's excellent.
yes good pointwhen it has a power tailgate which takes a long time to open/close compared to a manual one.

As a 2nd hand owner I would not want the liability of powered mechanicals failure as they age, I doubt there is a manual fall-back functionality? - replacing the rear struts on my touring didn't break the bank.

specifically I carried a couple of ladders in touring at the weekend and had thought it would be zero help for that, not strong enough lip, and,
I wouldn't lift a shopping bag up and over, even if it would fit through opening, my gym bag is too large, too.
I've not analysed if any other manufacturers do them ? if they have a genuine utility I'd expect them to.

how many estates have you owned - small opening is just a gimmick and I subsequently thought of the samsung washing machines which have the same thing,Maybe if you had lived with one you would have an informed view rather than guessing for the sake o
