Yes the Twin Frozr II models are just a different cooler, more efficient and quieter than the reference designs.

If I can remember correctly they come with 2x Molex to 6 pin PCI-e adapters.
I'll have to check when I get home. If not i'll find another as I have plenty becuase I don't use them

Yeah the 5850 is still a very strong card.

Just make sure if your buying it second hand that the seller is giving you all the accessories that came with the card...i.e. power cable adaptors and that the card has been registered with the manufacturer to validate its warranty.

Haven't yet validated warranty as i've barely touched the cards

I can do so tonight if needs be. Also I still have orginal boxing and packaging along with all cables and adaptors

ive just looked inside my computer and the psu is 375w is that enough ?

also is the 5850 card reg'd for warranty ?

Nope...I think your snookered mate!!!

A power supply with such a low output would not be suitable for a modern GFX card.

Radeon 5850's and GTX 460's need a MINIMUM of a 500W power supply.

Yeah a shame to say, you're stuffed without upgrading your PSU.

If you're going to buy one, get a corsair as their quality and warranty are amazing.

Even the lower end cards you spoke about to start with such as the 5750 still require a 450-500w supply!!

and u can't buy another psu because i think the motherboard power connection is a special one on dell systems

You could try it, the problem is not so much the wattage output its the amps your power supply can sustain on is 12volt rails.

when gaming, you card (and entire system) is sucking more juice, if your power supply cant handle the load it will overheat and shutdown...or worse it'll short out and take the rest of your system with it as it surges.

right, its a good job i asked on these forums before ordered really. I just checked my older self built computer and that had a thermal take 475 psu so thats no good. Is there any decentish cards i could buy for a 375w psu or am i wasting my time ?

The Thermaltake PSU would probably do the job actually.

I would even suggest that this would run a 5850 or 460 quite safely.

has it's a cheap psu, it'll just blow and take the rest of your system with it
