No probs mate! Good luck :D

The Thermaltake 475w will easily handle up to a Radeon 5770 or GTS 450, it would take them in its stride.

It SHOULD also be able to take a 5850 or GTX 460 but with there extra power requirements it could be dodgy.

I promise you the Thermaltake would happily power a card such as this:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-216-SP&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1515

or this

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-100-MS&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1854

It would run both of the above cards all day long without much effort, but cards like the 5850 or gtx 460 require two 6 pin power feeds...this puts a lot more strain on the 12volt rails of a PSU.

And as such it could be risky to run a 5850/460 on that power supply.

i think ill just pass this machine onto my mrs in a few weeks and get my self a new custom built machine im due for an upgrade anyway

thanks for the help anyway at least i have a bit more idea about power and gfx cards now :)

Its always worth a try upgrading older machines but it sometimes reaches the point where you have to spend so much on key components that it becomes far more cost effective to buy a newer machine

PSUs lifetimes are pretty god damn good compared to other components.

I possibly have a tx750w Corsair for sale for £50 but i'm not sure if someone else is buying it yet.

if u run the psu at full wattage in your case 375w all the time it'll just die sooner than later

it's always better to have atleast 20% under the max wattage rating

At the low level entry range of cards normally the differance of £30 can be allmost double sometimes triple the performance of a £70 card, Take the 460GTX min really.

I used to have a dell xps 420 before my current set up you can swap out the psu with ease I went for a corsair 850 also you cannot overclock but you can pin mod it to 3ghz search q6600 pin mod on google it's extremely simple. Also 460 or 465 is a great card for mid range gaming also you can fit even an Ati 5970 in a dell xps which is super impressive I wouldn't though. Goodluck
