WoW funeral attenders slaughtered

supporting people on a forum is different to using a game though.

Using a forum/chat room to inform people about what is going on in your life is understandable if you know a lot of people online.

BUT i think there is a huge difference between that and getting 20+ characters from a GAME together to talk about how you love this virtual area...etc. These clans have forums and chatrooms and they should use them for this kind of stuff.

Games are there for people to play and enjoy themselves. There are people you would trust and others you wouldnt. You wouldnt leave all of your best items on the floor with people you dont know while you get a different character or change your setup. Being AFK in any area of the game where PvP is enabled (and while nearly half of those grieving werent even at their damn keyboards) is purely stupid. People have respect in real life when people die, but in games people play differently. Hence ROLE PLAYING.

If i was playing WOW i would have joined in the raid just for fun..

(i am thinking of starting after my exams for anyone that wants to kill me :D )

As many have said, it shouldn't be funny, but it is.

Doesn't explain much about the funeral, but them crashing it and the whole thing descending into chaos so fast is interesting to watch. Pretty audacious plan.

Is it me or did two of them waltz up and join the queue of mourners before the attack? Google video quality isn't great and you can't download it in a proper format from them, so I couldn't really see.

Showing what people said about them and acknowledging they were idiots was a good touch.

I'd say that sums it up pretty well. For those that found it funny anyway.

Edit: I watched the full download (half of which is high-level Rogue pwnage stuff from a different production) and it's a bit more sensitive that the google video version. No scatmaster for a start... And you can see what people were posting/typing/saying. Apparently the person loved PvP and they were remembering her that way... <cough>

Hi, this as you should know if you have read the FAQ (you have read it haven't you?) is a family forum and swearing is not tolerated (and neither is questioning moderator decisions on the forum).

Linking directly to material that contains swear words or other material that is banned from the forum is not acceptable.

Jokester

Fair enough. I can understand the no swearing rule, but *no* questioning the mods is utterly ridiculous and draconian.

Why shouldn't they be questioned?

To suggest mods decisions in a fast changing envoirment, like today's modern "PC" games "shouldn't be questioned" is utterly ridiculous, nothing will move forward in the stagnant atmosphere you suggest.

I'd rather question the rules than agree with them ad'hoc .. forever, sorry.

Anyway, these are current OcUK rules, and I'm ashamed to point any gamer this way for sake of embarrassing my self.

This is a supposed *PC* Gaming community, Last I looked PC Gaming attracted a more mature Gamer.

I bet most here have heard of swear words, and even if they haven't ... What we have here is a collection of Gamers that like to play games like ... COD/COD2, Half Life 2, Quake 4, Doom 3 and even WOW where they can roam virtual gameworlds, and maim, slash, shoot and kill, basically ... do what ever violence springs to mind in moments of frustration.

But swear words are off limit? Nobody directly swore in a post here .... Gimme a break.

You guys know something's wrong here. And its not me.

Just saying.

PS Jokester.

If you are calling me for taking a stand, (And I dont appreciate you talking down to me) then you better be a bit more clear about what you type.

If ... as you say, my questioning wont be tolerated? then I expect you will be calling for a ban?

My parting question is ... If I'm silenced, does that make you right?

I Honestly dont think this PC Game discussion forum is for me.

Very little honest discussion of PC gaming here, this place is overun by rules.

You can question the mods as much as you like, just through email and not on the boards, its reasonable as it means you can be a bit more free in what you want to express.

Fair enough Yewen.

If mods are not open enough to answer public questions, then I certainly will not digress to talking to them in private.

These are public concerns. PC gaming is a more mature pursuit, and the people tripping over them selves to report an out of focus "swear Word" in the original WoW vid to mods here, is just unbelievably pathetic. IMHO

Once again, just saying.

This place needs a major revamp.

They will answer public questions quite happily about the day to day running, but if it is a moderating decision you do not agree with you have to speak to one of them off the boards, it does make sense even if you are opposed to it.

The no swearing rule can be a pain as is the case with this link, but if it is not enforced on everything then what is stopping after swearing in links is alowed for OcUK to turn into a foul mouthed forum full of 13 year olds all having a flame at each other?

It is the way the boards work, I know its a bit of a common response, they are a free resource, provided by a shop and the only rules are a complete no questions on the board ban on swearing and competitors.

It is not that bad really, and if you can not say something without swearing it is not worth saying at all.

The Dons I have spoken two are all really helpful and usually get back to you straight away, considering that they do it voluntarily and there are so few of them for such a big forum, they do do a good job and keep it readable.

Only reason I post on here is the ban on swearing, as it makes OcUK unique and very easy to read.

I don't recall seeing one swearword in this thread or ever before.

The games that people discuss here have swearwords and worse though.

The world aint nice, is it?

So lets go on endorsing Nasty PC Games that have genocide and online killing, lets enthuse about that, but God Forbid, don't link to a vague post that has a swear word in it if you squint your eye's to read the almost unreadable text ... in the first place, that is.

After all, we all know what a massive family meeting point OcUK PC Games forum is worldwide, and how accidentally clicking on a link might involve OcUK in a world wide scandal of intentional corruption ... regarding cuss words

Pathetic!!!!

It's really very simple, the OcUK forums have rules. If you read them and don't like what you read or disagree with them, don't join up!

This thread is about an online funeral that was disrupted in WOW (which incidentally raised a smile although I smell a setup?) so please let's keep discussing that, send your views to a moderator or leave and find some forums you are happy with! It must be nice to have nothing more important in life to worry about than OcUK not allowing links to swearing. You have disrupted this thread enough now **** *** (all swearing must also be fully starred out ;) )

Done

A PC Game forum for infants is not what I want to have anything to do with, far less observe grovelling fools like you, who ultimately have nothing worth while to contribute, apart from arse licking to help crawl your way up an imaginary esteemed ladder.

Now go clean your tongue.

[edit]

You as well Sweetloaf.

Absolutely sickening what people will do to agree.

.

Or maybe its simply down to the fact you dont seem to be able to grasp the concept of rules that you cant adhere to?

Your very much in the minority with your views.

Mr Bulbous calm down man , I understand what your saying and i totaly agree with you ...I do .

But as people have said ..its the rules mate , We can't challange that at this point in time .

Im not one for rules or people that try and tell you that your wrong to prove a point .

I post on a load of other forums apart from this one , I like what i see on most of them but others are pap , I agree to follow the rules as much as i can and i try to get along with everyone.

I can see that your angry with what is going on here but this will not solve / change anything ,The whole idea of me posting this topic was so we could all gather round and have a laugh , Some how it turned into a anti swearing debate with no end , We need to get it back on track and try and forget all the small minded people and the rules .

Enjoy the movie and have a laugh , If you don't like swearing ...don't look ;)

Bulbous you don't seem to grasp the fact that the OCUK forums are provided by a computer supplies company who are under no obligation to provide forums.

It's like me opening my house up to the public so people have somewhere to chat and you complaining when I throw you out for cursing in front of my kids.

You don't have a god given right to be here and say what you want, basically.

True!

Yeah but you can't go up stairs in the house to the room with the big black door. Thats where the Dons go and do their chatting and complaining :D

So about this WoW malarky....

Personally i think it creates a good community. The people who want to rise up and confront the mods end up leaving, while those who follow the rules and have a civilised discussion stay and create a great long term community.

One thing i picked up on in Mr B's posts, you don't have to be tolerant of swearing to be mature ;) could actually be deemed the opposite, mature people know how to communicate without being vulgar.

Anyway, personally i think they were stupid to hold this wake in a PvP zone, having not seen the video yet, could it possibly have been a passing raid party? if it wasn't premeditated and they just passed by a group of vulnerable enemies then how could they have known what was going on.

But then again i've not yet seen it ;)

I think this has gone far enough off topic now. If anyone has a problem with any of the rules, feel free to email me and I will explain them to the best of my ability. If you have a serious problem with the rules, don't let the door hit your arse on the way out. This is a forum provided for you free of charge when there is no obligation to do so. Some people say the rules are harsh, I say they have created a (generally) very friendly atmosphere and a very pleasant browsing experience.
