WoW Morals

No, but there would have been 5 people waiting for a mission item to respawn, and me missing out three times, and eventually getting annoyed and shooting up some frigates, then being accused of being a noob-basher, and chased all over the place by someone in a cruiser :)
err
no
only SOME of the cosmos missions (not normal ones) have spawning things like that, and they are hardly ever camped in my exp.
if your missing out (and in 0.0) then shoot the buggers that are waiting aswell damnit, what do you think this is? anyway everyone knows real men don't wait for respawns, they wait for someone who waited and kill them.

NINJA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why didnt you equip them?
If i was in his position and you did that to me, I would have reacted a lot worse.
So yes what you did was bad and dishounest.

EDIT: ok I read you explination on why u didnt equip them but as most old times know, there isnt many good hearted ppl in WOW and its nice to show some love now and then and do the right thing. If i was in you shoes I would have posted the gloves to him, some times the nice reply you get, and the warm fealing inside ;) is worth it!

lol so, tell me how you really feel :p

i posted the gloves yesterday, only play every few days so i haven't gone back to see if he sent a response, although when i sent them he'd gone up 10 lvl's in 24 hours so i doubt he'll even use them, but its cleared my conscience. I think i probably would have let him have them under normal circumstances but he'd been telling me how his guild were giving him loads of cash and were power levelling him through all the quests, not an excuse, just think it influenced my thinking at the time.

i'll treat it all as a learning exercise, despite getting another char to lvl 60 its only the 2nd time i've done an instance so i'm very much a noob in group ethics :o

i doubt i'll start equiping things on the fly though, it sounds stupid i know but thats just the way i play, unless i know an item is going to mean the difference between success and failure i'll leave it till i've finished.

I agree with the OP about equiping items in battle, I got an amazing sheild today, and instantly destroyed it by trying to drag it onto an action bar to switch between it and a 2 handed weapon. I thought the window that popped up said 'do you want to bind this to you' not 'this action will destroy this item'. I wailed :(

I was the same with my main character until my IRL friends re-subscribed recently. I've had bad experiences with random pick-up groups in WoW that I hardly bothered with my characters. Sure it leads to poorer equipment but as I generally play on PvE servers it isn't a problem.

No he was doing it for quests too, i shared a sweet quest that gave him a very very nice weapon too, the gloves were a bonus because he had the chest item.

I do care, i'm just debating if i care enough to give him the spare pair i found that haven't sold, was hoping to get some spiritual enlightenment from you fine folk :p and get clued up on instance ethics.

Personally outside raids if someone has more of a set than me I'll let them take the piece unless its a run specifically to get that bit for me in which case I usually go with a balanced group from my guild anyway and being the only plate wearer I usually don't have a problem

about the worst thing i've seen recently was one of our hunters (surprise!) needing on a leather piece that was perfect for the feral druid in the party knowing full well he'd replace it with a mail bit asap anyway, we did let it slide in this instance because it was the first run through a post BC instance.

hehe in that case screw him, I did several runs through WC to get the fang set for a druid alt (nice set, looks stupid tho) and because we were boosting through it we allowed a couple extra people to tag along from random groups but made it clear that it was purely for the Fang set (ML *** :)

and it is on Thunderhorn considered polite to equip an item if its BOE if you need on it, people over here on the old fat servers are quite happy to slap you on the ignore list for the slightest incident, it does however make for a lot more considerate population.

get guanolisted by one person in a high end raiding guild, bit of word of mouth when you are 40 levels higher and bam, suddenly you find it very hard to get into a decent raid :D

I was quite understanding the other day when one of the priests (who I also live with) in our guild refused to make a flask of power for a warlock I know, it turns out that he did something in the low 50's which most of the resto spec classes I group with hate, health tapping and then whining about more out of combat heals coming their way.

a good lock always carries bandages for the self harming!

Druid's tank better than Warrior's at lvl 70 from my experiences and as a Priest I find them a lot easier to heal.

As for the OP, if you knew he needed then and realised you didn't why didn't you just mail them to him, that would have been a nice thing to do.

Hopefully thats gunna change soon when there is some DECENT TANKING GEAR

with a little luck this whole 480% extra armour / health thing will balance out with warriors getting their Def and resilience up, I tank lots and my GF does the feral druid DPS caper (worryingly well I might add) but if she switches to OT in bear form she takes (and is capable of taking) way more damage than me, but I make my meagre 65's 9500hp go a lot further. 10k armour, 440 def and 100 resi rocks :) specially since I am fury atm :D

Was not irony, all completely true in fact :) Was very funny. "OW! Leave me alone!" "NOOB BASHER!" "I've only been playing for a fortnight!" "DIEEEE!"
should have podded his hairy ass tbh.
thats what I would have done

drop the cosmos missions and get down to 0.0. thats where the real men play!

You have to appreciate that i along with many gamers work long hours and only get to play for a couple of hours max at a time every few days, which means i cant do a lot of the medium/long instances, hence why i gave up playing WoW last year when i got that char to 60.

Plus it takes a while to get a group together and move everyone to the same place, so even the short instances are pushing it.

Not every WoW player has lots of time :p at least with questing i can quit the game halfway through if i'm needed my the missus.

WoW made a huge mistake with all that crap.

You have options as group leader to change the group loot table.

Apart from that there shouldn't be a nbg.

There should only be roll or pass options.

that way is the fairest and it's the luck of the draw.

It will even out when Blizz realised they turned druids into imba characters and nerf them back down more like :)

love how in WOW once you've set your race/class what you do is nearly entirely set in stone.
ahh love being able to change ship

Give him the gloves you have spare. sell the other gloves and you will be mates for life :)

Rolling need is fair enough, but i would have expected you to equip them when you had won them too. If you knew you could make betetr ones after the run, post them to him and make the better ones.

Prob a good reason why i tend to do runs with guild mates only lol..

Rules I (and mose decent WoW players) use are simple, you only need if the character you're playing needs it. Otherwise greed it. If neither of you need it & you fancy it for an alt....just ask.

You can understand why the guy was pee'd, but if you've explained what happened & he's still hassling you.....ignore him.

I don't understand why people are asking why you didn't equip them there & then. I would've sent them straight to my alt enchanter for +7 Ag :p

This reminds me, i want the fang set for my low lvl Drood....
