Wow, Nvidia have banned Hardware Unboxed from receiving review samples...

HU is the best review site imo since they cover a lot of games in their test suite and generally don't waste time ranting about useless stuff. Not sure how GN is more popular when they barely test 3-4 games in their gpu reviews.

For speed, Linus is the best imo - he gets through the review quickly with just enough detail to get the gist of it. Both GN and HU reviews just drag on forever and ever.

As to why GN is more popular, it's simply - they offer a ******** more content. HU is very narrowminded in it's focus and they clearly have a resource issues for some time now in creating new content. GN puts out a lot of cool videos like factory tours, hardcore overclocking, how PC parts are made - the more content you offer the more subscribers you will get. Linus didn't get 10 million subscribers by just reviewing graphics cards, you have to expand and until HU does that their subscriber base will be much smaller

Linus for the fun stuff
HUB for the reviews
GN for the factory tours, in depth stuff
Gone off JZ2C and PH/Bitwit are a bit dull

Bonus shout for UK bloke PCcentric just because he is about 104% on the eager scale

Pauls Hardware is dreadful. He has the personality of a spoon.

Great GN gave 10% HWU gave a whole video which was 20mins. That would make their review 36% total of their full 55 minutes if you look at it thY way.

There is zero issue with splitting out the videos to more sizable videos and also means they are headlined so people whom want raytracing can watch that and others that don't can't skip it all.

If you going to make a point at least use all the information to actually be factually correct rather than cherry picking what you want.
You're quite correct, though Grim5 doesn't seem to prefer accuracy in a few of his posts so I wouldn't waste your breath.

To complete the entire cringeworthy arc we end with a grovelling email from the same guy "responsible" for the first one.

Linus didn't seem to think it was like him to cut off a reviewer like that so it's possible Jensen saw a review of HU that he didn't like and said **** that guy in particular :p

atill waiting for Su's grovelling email

AMD fans: Leather jacket man bad. Goddess Su would never do em like that...

In 2015 AMD notified KitGuru and TPU that they would not receive any Fury cards for review because their review contents was not seen as favourable to AMD according to the PR manager at the time (yes Lisa was the CEO already).

This never blew up because YouTube was a smaller platform then

5 years ago, keep digging.

I guarantee you 5 years time this will still be being brought up time and time again by certain pro-AMD posters :D

Have we let overclocker's dream die yet?

GN tends to do more serious editorial content (when not ranting), covering a wider range of aspects and/or topics i.e. pulling stuff in from Buildzoid, etc. and often digs into behind the scenes stuff and fact checking, etc. it gives them a broader audience to draw from.

Have you got anything to say about Nvidia recent behaviour or is your only purpose here whataboutism detraction?

I like GN but what you've stated is why HU is usually the first site I go to for reviews, both CPU and GPU.

I find GN pretty heavy going at times. I’m probably just too much of a casual, but GN reviews are information and chart overload. And he talks too fast.
